HM to restore Stad Francais to former glory
If the owner consults Meyer as to recruitment he is likely to have difficulty in finding players of the future, Since Meyer I only interested in players over 30 he should find some rejects by other clubs/franchises.
The owner will also find that Meyer knows zero about backline play – hopefully Matfield can become the Stade Francais backline coach – he has plenty experience in backline play because he moonlighted as a center while supposedly being a lock.
Anyway even though Stade got rid of Morne – there are still two favourites of Meyer – but the greatest duds ever in rugby– namely Willem Alberts and the prop Van der Merwe around
I wish Meyer and Stade well for the future – but cannot see how Meyer can succeed as a coach of a struggling club
One incident suddenly became the rule like the constant moonlighting in the backline was a fact - although I admired Matfield as a line out jumper he did more damage by disrupting backline play than any other forward ever could.
In youir imagination again - dangerous to believe BS
We'll probably see Matfield and Fourie Du Preez make a come back under Meyer.
I wonder ... do you think that Bakkies can beat his time of 2 minutes 3 seconds over the 100?

Fools paradise again - wake up please.

Sure Meyer did well when he was with the Bulls in identifying players early and at the time he developed a style of play that for a time worked, namely the scrummie passing the ball back to forwards in attacking.
That would never work in the present era - as was evidenced in the WC series in 2015.
I was mostly plaguing Mozart in this case - but I have reservations about Meyer being successful in the present playing environment .
HMMMMM...Lol
These posts are so funny...aren't they CC
H for Heyneke
M for Meyer
M for Mozart

M for Morne
LOLZ and more LOLZ
Haaaaaaaahahahaha!!
You are seriously not well, Sebastien.
BlueBok ... I think you may have meant Danie Roussouw ... HMMMM M??
And no ... Bryan Habana wasn't discovered by Meyer.
It was just one of those times when a lot of talented players were bought and paid for by a franchise who then went on to become great Boks.
Meyer didn't have anything to do with it. He rode on their coat tails for years and did his best to take the credit for it all but that all came crashing down a few years later as Bok coach.
Now we know him as the coach who got thumped by the Japanese.
Seb, what exactly do you smoke?
Don't smoke, but we've all heard this familiar tune before...mention Matfield, Morne and Heyneke Meyer then the song starts all over again.
Do you remember the song the Beatles sung many years ago...Number 9, Number 9 Number 9...
This has a similar ring , doesn't it.
I find this hilarious, don't you guys.

This has nothing to do with the ranking - under Meyer after the Japan disaster we were also ranked 6. But that one is just covered up by you.
Fact is the problem started towards the end of Meyer's coaching period and started on the EOYT and was a disgrace on its own. Many warned Meyer about his sticking with the elderly who were under-performing but he would not listen - and the end result was two EOYT losses and a home loss against Argentina in the Super Rugby series as well ultimately the loss against Japan.
Meyer's main problem was his sayings that -
* he knows what the experienced players he preferred is capable of (forgetting that the term should have been "was" and not "is"); and
* SA backline players do not have the skill to play a ball-in-hand game (true in the case of the players he selected).
Hew never picked players on the basis of performance - reputation was his only norm, He ignored the Rule Changes of 2008 and tried to take the team back to the game he used as coach of the Bulls.
After the Japan test Meyer panicked and flood the team with players who rarely played together before. There was no co-ordinated game plan because the older players could not adjust and the youngsters could not fit in with his sort of game plan. The plainest sight seen in the WC is Fourie du Preez passing the ball back to forwards (mostly Burger) - making him the stand-in flyhalf. That kind of approach further destroyed the team performances and they were lucky op beat Wales because Vermeulen himself said he disobeyed Meyer's instruction not to off-load the ball.
Be it as it may - I do not think Meyer will do well at Stade - I only hope he is not fired after a year as happened to White at the Sharks and at Monpellier.
With the right approach it would be possible - bar for selection on the basis of merit and not quotas. However, this is not about us - but Stade Francais and rebuilding of a team which is near the bottom of the pile and it is unsure how Meyer would cope in an environment foreign to his playing style.
There is a huge difference between Rassiie amd Meyer - Rassie knows the modern game, Meyer does not.
Always worthwhile to check
