Saffas/ and... kiwis - I'm trying to clear this one up:

No 1 homeghround advantage for respective teams:

1. Loftus -Boks ?

2. Eden Park - ABs?

3. Suncorp - Wallabies - other than somewhere like Townsville where the RL test is being played incidentally...

Why then would Boks opt to play in Jo'berg v ABs? I know the reason the wobblies play in sydney its becasue of the idiots running the show in ARU...

But - what is Boks best home ground adavantge ?

Traditionally the boks best ground has been Ellis Park. Over the last 3 years the Stadium in Soweto(actually outside) has been favoured instead of Ellis Park- not sure why. But the stadiums are close to each other.

Although any major stadium on the highveld suits the boks because of Altitude.

The reason that matches are in different locations is about catering for the different regions. England only play at Twickenham. Incidently some of the English players do not like Twickenham because many of the boxes are corporate people that vocally criticise them.

Playing in Soweto we lose the great Ellis Park history....including the RWC win. So far in Soweto we have played one....lost one. To me it's almost a neutral ground given the history.

Capacity/ $$$ I can understand and is clearly big influence.

But I think winning your home games is more important as winning team ultimately brings bigger $$$$ than filling a stadium with a team that has no clear advantage.

So is Soweto the best place to play the ABs then ?

As suggested I think Wobblies should be using Townsville (or very least Brisbane) with higher heat and humidity to play the ABs -

Well Bobbok I note that WP did not take on the offer to use the Cape Town Stadium which is bigger than Newlands by somewhere around 20,000 seats.

I wonder firstly how much one pays to get the Soweto stadium. Or how much does one lose as season ticket holders will not sit in their seats or boxes for this big game at Ellis park - hence the charge to them for the year will surely be less? Also all the on ground sales - who gets that etc etc. Would be very interesting to know the financial implications.
