Hong Kong Sevens

Anyone following the IRB Sevens ? NZ,   Sth Africa  and Wales swimming in the same pool.

No coverage over here unfortunately, we'll most probably get replays.

Just to update you then

     NZ beat South Africa 19 -10 in Pool B

    Samoa beat England 14 -12 in Pool A

      Fiji beat Australia       22 - 5  in Pool C

You guys may still have a chance though i think as the top two teams from each pool go through

Thanks. We must be one of the smallest nations in 7's rugby which is why I've always maintained the Boks will never get on top of the AB's and Samoans until they add more beefcakes to their squad.

You guys are right up there in the rankings and the rugby skills required are pretty much the same as in the 15 aside game but no mention in this forum so is it just the lack of coverage or what?

In NZ, Sevens is one of the major gateways to representing the ABs. Sevens Coach Gordon Tietjens has selected no less than 50 players that have gone on to become ABs.

Is it the same in SA?

 The final was superbly handled by South African referee Rasta Rasivhenge. He was fit, he was clear in his instructions and commands, he was calm and he was fair! Hats off to you Rasta - may you referee many more finals to come!
