How confident are the Boks in Elton's kicking

Penalty between the half and 10 metres lines....scores tied at 23.....77 minutes  on the clock. And they kick into touch 20 metres out.....it worked but the odds were low . Say no more.

 But this speaks to a specific....trust in his bottle to win a test. Nothing demonstrates the lack of trust better than that decision, as is usual, glossed over by our so called rugby journalists.

Jantjies has it all as far as skills, running ability and tactics are concerned....unless he is under pressure. The only thing missing from his arsenal is mental strength....oh and the ability to play behind forwards that are under pressure. Thinking as I type here.....he has two very big holes in his international game. 
1) No mental toughness, and that is what separates the Champions from the rest. 2) The ability to play behind forwards that are not able to dominate. 

 He's a confidence player as I pointed out a few years back.
Plays well when surrounded by familiar things and people ... crashes and burns when on other fields and where the majority of supporters are cheering for the opposition.
When he crashes he really crashes. 
Not a test prospect at all. That much we've seen and confirmed this year. 
Time to bring the best 10 in the country back into the mix ... Pat Lambie.  

I am still to see what all the hype about Lambie is about. He has glimpses of x factor every now and again, but he is mostly very ordinary. Not particularly good at goal kicking, average for an international 10 as far as tactical kicking is concerned, and his running game is okay, but nothing special. Did he have the flair coached out of him? Maybe, but that does not change the fact that it simply doesn't appear to be there anymore. 
Pollard for me is in much the same boat. Plenty of hype, but he has had a great many more bog ordinary matches than special ones. 
One need only look at Barrett to realise that we still have a long way to go before we can claim to have a  world class no.10!  

 Right now, Blue we're looking for the best we have ... and to be quite honest we don't have true world beaters at 10.
Lambie is the best we have.
Why select a nervous wreck like Jantjies when we can have a steady hand controlling the ship?

Is Lambie available again?Thought he was out for an extended time with bad concussion.He'd be the steadiest 10 in SA. Not too much flair but dependable.  

 Exactly ... beggars can't be choosers. 

 Lambie isn't far from Jantjies in the panic stakes and he has no flyhalf model. What do I mean by that? That he doesn't know what to do each time he gets the ball....every phase is a decision. Jantjies, Steyn, Pollard can easily be defined.....they have a pattern. So did Larkham, Carter and Wilkinson. What is Lambie's pattern?

He was the inc.umbent when we lost to Wales and the flyhalf when we lost to Japan. Now he has had a career threatening concussion....I think he would be wise to stop playing rugby, for his own health's sake
