How did the returning All Backs and Springboks fare this week

In the case of the All Blacks I think there can be no argument that Dan Carter, Sam Whitelock, Read and Dagg was brilliant However, the list of average to poor players were quite long. I would rate the following players in the latter category:- Ben Smith, Romano, Cruden, Barrett, Conrad Smith, Julian Savea, Ranger, Piutau, the Franks Brothers, Crockett, Retallick, Luatua, Braid, Messam, Cane, Vito Even though Dagg is brilliant in attack I still have lingering doubts about his defence. Barrett is a defenders nightmare, but his own defence is seriously suspect. Romano was a serious liability and the Franks brothers and Crockett jokes in bad taste - there scrimmaging is poor at best. I was severely disappointed in the performances of Piutau, Ranger and Luatua. They were just not in the game. Insofar as Ranger is concerned - he is strong - but does he have he necessary speed for a wing? He was far too easily overhauled by Rhule in that dash for the line by him. Insofar as the Springboks are concerned, the players who showed some class were Le Roux, Coetzee, Beast, Strauss, the Du Plessis brothers, Etzebeth and Beast. However, the list of average to poor performers is long and include the following:- Lambie, Morne Steyn, Jan Serfontein, JJ Engelbrecht, Basson, Van Zyl, Oosthuizen, Van der Merwe, Alberts, Nyakane Steyn had a good goalkicking performance - the rest of his game was putrid. Serfontein produced nothing of note and missed some tackles. Alberts did nothing during the whole game and did not show any real capacity in any component of loosie play

Shezza I watched both games and the heading said average to poor. Oosthuizen was bog ordinary - in other words average Ceradyne Where do you differ from me as to the Sharks - Bulls game. Was what people calls a hard boring game - but I sat through it like glue. .

Yep JJ makes the team of the week but the BOY (bore of the year) has him down as poor.....tedious is an apt word.

Mozart Can you read? The heading is NOT poor - but average to poor. I never said Engelbrecht was poor - so wake up and stop trying to make hay where there is none. The poor player on that list was Alberts - who did nothing all game long - and to a lesser extent Van der Merwe. Another effort to divert attention - but it does no work - does it?

So Oosthuizen didn't contribute to the Cheetahs dominance in the set piece? Don't get them any hard yards or contest the ball on the ground? He sure did in the game I watched. Nyankane when came off the bench kept the continuation of dominance and platform for the backs to play off.
