How good our Super sides could be
Esterhuizen at 13 and Damian at 12?
Some interesting ideas though. The Bulls backline looks like it could bully a lot of teams. Minus Gelant of course.
The Sharks would be weaker with Reinach and Louw.
Dave,
You have left this country for many years now. How the hell are you so well informed over what SA players are available and their potential? I am impressed.
Reinach, maybe. I'm still very sceptical. Better than the other 9s in SA? Maybe. The bar hasn't been very high since Du Preez and Kockott. Schreuder has looked pretty sharp the past couple of games.
Louw. Currie Cup. A lot to prove. These Currie Cup warriors tend to be exposed.
Gelant is patchy.
Do note that you wanted Damian at 12, with Esterhuizen at 13.
Save try and start a thread dealing with the nice idea if we can keep SA players in SA and the immediate reaction is -
* the normal crap of Silly Billy's De Allende and Esterhuizen; and
* Mozart's standard attack on P-S du Toit
Thanks for correcting my typing error so elegantly
It's nice to know you'd approve of Esterhuizen at 13!
Silly Billy
No Esterhuizen is at best a franchise level 12 - he is not a 13 's backside or perhaps he is.
Replace the imposter 12 with a test level 12 - Esterhuizen - and begin working on his natural position, 13. If he can defend and read play. Big if.
I like Esterhuizen, but he's got much to do to even be mentioned as a test starter for the Boks. I was a big fan of DdA, but he let me and all his fans down. He's got all the physical attributes, the hands, the offload, strength and enough speed for a 12 or 13. Unfortunately he does not have the rugby brains to be great. He reads the game poorly and does stupid things. Duh Allende is an appt nic for him.
Nobody else is challenging for bok 12...or 13 for that matter, either. I was hoping the Du Plessis cousins would come to the party, but they stay injured...Damn!!!
Damian is weak in the upper body, lacks skills and has no sense for wjat is happening on the field. He is a natural 13, but doesn't have the defence for the most difficult defensive position on the field.
André ticks all the boxes for a 12. Rassie let the Boks down by undeservedly demoting him and rewarding Damian for countless dud performances. Andrè suits the Bok's pressure game much better. In short, he looks and plays like a real centre. He just lacks the media hype machine.

Another BS statement of which you have zero proof, That is why any thinking person would never believe the crap you write on site. All your assumptions are based on prejudice and no real proof is ever provided by you or your side-kicks.
The biggest joke remains - your hero Frans Steyn was humiliated twice in one match when he tried to tackle De Allende - and both times he landed on his backside on the grass. Great proof of how "weak" the upper body strength of De Allende is - not so? .
"If we had all our players based at home and we made a few transfers. Could easily then field a 5th side."
???
Your math sucks...
I count 2, if you consider that there are 38 players in a Super Rugby Squad...
Or 3, if you consider that there 23 players in a match day squad and that does not make any provision for injuries or the resting of players... So, we are probably back to two!
There is no medicine for stupid!
.
Mike, you are embarrassing yourself. Damian has never gotten the upper hand on Frans. In fact, the game you are referring to involved the highly suggestive, erotic pole dance tackle on Frans. If think he is strong in the upper body? Give me one reference. You can start with his entire 2018 body of work, which I uploaded. Kinda of funny when you speak of a lack of evidence.
Any team that has De Allende and Estie in as a center pair is in for a torrid time.
It's a waste of time trying to coach these two idiots as they're incapable of learning anything. The player you see today is the same fool we saw a few years go ... except .. they've added a few additional bad habits to their repertoire.
No thank you ...
