Players play a average of 32 games a season, and as time goes by more and more tournaments get introduced like for example the England Tour to South Africa, incoming tours is going to become a normal tournament every year.

The tri nations has expanded so has the super title from super 14 to 15 and in 2 years time it is going to get reviewed so it might mean more teams like southern kings aka ANC.

When is enough, enough? Straight after Super rugby the local tournament gets played or is already busy and players from the super rugby must fall in and start playing after the local tournaments there is international duty's witch is a honour to play for your country and it gets affected sometimes with injuries caused simply by fatigue and tiredness. The professional rugby players playing life will shorten by atleast 5 years!

@ Terrence - the other day we where discussing the same thing regarding the long superrugby season. This is relevant not only to Superrugby but as you suggested to mostly every modern tournalent or place where the games take place. Correctly it takes it's toll on the players bodies for the sake of money. Apart from that, what the unions constantly forget is that if they want to fill the stadiums they shouldn't give the spectators more rugby to watch but less. This will counter the spectator fatigue that is currently taking the rounds. So shortening the tournaments, not necceserily less teams, only less games. Will eventually benefit everybody. As the players will get more time to recuperate as well as the spetators will appreciate bigger games more and fill stadiums more regularly. So yes you are quite right when it comes to player health, but that is not the only thing that will benefit if tournaments are shorter.
