Agreed snapster he looks to have genuine potential. Nice that he also has reasonable size at 98 kg.Lions are looking like they have depth at center. Mnisi is one to watch.

Yeah poor lad spent all S15 carrying bags and much of the CC on the bench. That game was his first start all season. Talk about taking ones opportunity.
I know my mate Pete said he could not start him at Griquas this year because the poor lad had had no game time as he was on S15 loan but got no game time.

So Pete would not start him because he had limited game time for the Cheetas, but the Lions start him in a semi final even though he has limited game time. He then had a good game for the team in 2nd place in the competition where the Griquas have been a disaster this year in the Curry Cup. I take it that Pete smokes the same stuff as you when making selections....

Ah we have the brilliant Sharktwat making rugby calls again.
I'll keep it short ignorant man. Firstly Pete made the calls during the Vodacom Cup the comp Pete won. At that time Mnisi had not had game time at all for months, not weeks so no, no coach would have selected a player to start over players that have served him well all Vodacom.
At the Lions, Mnisi has been playing off the bench every week with an extended run in some of the games. Spot the difference ignorant prick?

Agreed Jerome one has to ask why such a talented player now 25 has been overlooked so. More so given the colour of his skin which makes his non selection even more puzzling.
Same can be said of Stokkies Hanekom now 25, Stephen Watermeyer now 26, Josh Strauss who was 25 when he burst onto the scene, Armand v/d Merwe now 26, Boshoff now 25 etc

Sorry to say - but the defense of the Sharks center combination on Saturday was not what it should have been - which accounts to a substantial extent for the play of Mnisi. The problem is that Estrhuizen has sthe same problem as Fracois Steyn has - they are slow to defend against players whoo run at an angle and that allows for too many line-breaks.

The good news is he only missed a few tackles....the bad news is much of the time he couldn't figure out it was his tackle to make. Apart from that he was throwing laughable long passes that killed Sharks overlaps.
I'd say he was huge, in defence. ....not he was huge in defence. Come back when you have figured that out.

Esterhuizen needs to be given some freedom, the Sharks coaching staff are a joke. May as well have kept Jake the Snake.

Agree Flash, nice hands but he may lack pace. He was clearly the best centre on the park yesterday though.

Mnisi ... He's a class act and I'm please to have him playing for the Lions.
He spent most of the super rugby season on the bench for the Cheetahs.
This is his 2nd start at the Lions.
Ackerman has brought him into the mix slowly. Properly. Mnisi's made the most of it.
He impressed last week as well. Reckon it's gonna be a tough ask to get the 12 jersey away from now.
Amazing how Ackerman seems to take all the rejected players and bring their potential out for all to see.
The Lions are slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with.
Oh and one more thing ... he has more than sufficient pace to be very effective at 12 ... as we saw Saturday past.
I also thought Esterhuizen had a good game. He made me nervous on more than one occasion. Stro ng ball carrier. Another class act.

Mnisi looked fine pace wise to me. Esterhuizen may lack a yard.

Both have more than sufficient pace for the 12 jersey.
