When he was then selected for the Boks, I felt the end is near!
- He never came across as a particularly astute tactician.
- He appeared to lack urgency.
- He appeared to be slow (and still appears to be slow) on the break
However, here I am, 4 years later... acknowledging that I got this one wrong.
Since he has taken over as the number 1 scrummie at Ellis Park, the Lions backline looks settled, calm and organised.
- His passing game is really fantastic! Better than Faf's.
- He is also a lot cooler under pressure. Faf appears to have a chink in his armour when under pressure!
- His mistake ratio per game is also very low!
- He uses his runners very well too!
- Kicking game... on par with anyone else in the country at the moment!
Ross, thank you for proving me wrong!
Please continue to do so!!
Best of luck against the Saders!
