I have already penciled in a 5 point win for this match for the Sharks. 


Don't expect much from the Hurricanes huff and puff forward pack, but do expect tactical niavity like trying to run the ball from their own 22 when no overlaps exists. 


Should be some big gaps for some easy intercept tries and counter attacks.


I think this could be a big score for the Sharks. 

Then following this the Hurricanes travel to Capetown to take another moering. 

It could completely derail the Hurricanes campaign right from the outset.

The Hurricanes do have a good backline, but most of the forwards are no name brands (except Franks, and Vito is ok) that should be thrown around like rag dolls by the Sharks pack.


I would also like to see Frans Steyn run over Beauden Barrett.

It will be a tough game for the Canes, they are on the road & Sharks are bound to be full of confidence & have one game under their belt already. 
If the Canes keep the score close they could win be a drop goal, lol I believe it has been done before

 @JustWin, the Hammett Fatcor vs the Jake White Factor should mean this is a formality, although stranger things have happened. 
If the Sharks forwards gain early ascendancy it could be a very hard day at the office for the Hurricanes with the dam breaking .

The forwards are not as bad as you think. By the way I believe Victor Vito is out injured but you will get a close look at Ardie Savea & Jack Lam has been known to make a tough tackle or two. Plus Coles, Franks, Toomaga-Allen... these guys will come with intent.
It will be a tough game for the Canes but if they run some early scores in with their brilliant backs... & the forwards hold ground it could be a run away for the Canes

 Many things against the Canes: Vito one of teir most important forward is out for some weeks, they are also out Bateman, Shields (can force the inclusion of the newcomer Adam Hill in the starting XV) and Proctor, the Sharks have already gone through the first match of the season which is usually rusty and they don't,...

But don't be so sure about an easy win. The canes are used to play against more dominant packsand their tactics are adjusted to it. They are very dangerous in counter attack for teams used to base their wins in the pack dominance as Sharks do.
An interesting match to watch and opened IMO to a surprise.

I think their forwards are going to thrown around like Rag Dolls, and their tactic will be to move the ball away from the set pieces as quick as possibale to their outside backs. Any kicks that do not make touch will be counters. 
I am relishing this game and cant wait for it.

hurricanes didnt play the sharks last year cos of the stupid format, but the last time the two teams met, hurricanes got the 5pt win after 42-18 culling of the sharks.

sharks will be favourites for this game, but will they get 5pts??? something tells me that white will resort to his usual boring brand and use the shark forwards to do multiple rolling mauls etc.
if the hurricanes gain parity in their tight 5 and contest the sharks linouts, we will give pursleves a fighting chance.

if our forwars show up, our backs and loose forwards will do the rest and once again show the sharkies how to really run play attacking rugby.

vito is a huge loss, but bateman is not. he was consistently one of the weakest links in the hurricanes backline last year, and if francois steyns performance against the bullls is anything to go by, its very fortunate that bateman is out.

dont know who they are going to play with conrad, ray lelo would ahve been the ebst choice, but hes in chch now.

im hoping that southlands cardiff vaega son of the legendary manu samoa center too vaega partners up with conrad smith.
hes one player who will shock frnacois if he tries to muscle his way through him.

also want to see motu matuu get as much gametime as possible, saffas dont know what a hard hit is yet, and matuu will show them when he tackles their banana bunch  ass to the hospital ward, lolz.

its a pity about the hammet factor though, wish u and ur saders would just take him back, easily the most hated individual in all of rugby according to the ucuhiha clan bingo book.

this is the match im looking forward to the most this week, but the crusaders vs chiefs will be the match of the round and year, as one of these two teams will win the spXV this year.

Is grand daddy Conrad Smith playing on Saturday?   Jordaan would love it - he would ran circles around Smith and score 2 of the 5 tries the Sharks will score against them   


I actually thought that Grandpa  Smith was on that rehab programme for rugby geriatr ics called sabbatical - not a very successful one at that.  Grandpa McCaw came back after rehab - a much less effective player than he used to be.

@Sasuke, some people like watching driving mauls, It is pure power play.  


Its not all about passing to the backline to get soft tries just by moving the ball from side to side until a gap opens up, or a back vs a forward etc. 
I actually saw some highlights of the Chiefs most recent game and they got a try from a type of maul, not the quality stuff that can be delivered from the republic mind you.

Critics in the Northern Hemisphere actually criticize the SuperXV for its poor defense, and attribute many tries to loose defensive structures rather than brilliant attack.
