He has hardly been in great form this season and has been physically exposed at test level in the past. Mvovo has been in great form and would have been my choice on the wing. Jeandre Kruger does not impress me either. I would have gone with Flip or de Jager at 4 with Etzebeth at 5

Dave, Mvovo was in great form last year until the Bargies directed a kickoff at him and he ran the other way. He always plays well until you really need him to play well. But I agree Basson is a disappointing choice. I just don't get why van Heereden never gets a chance.....big, strong, fast, with a brilliant step.....I think he'd be a test player in most countries

Dave, I agree on Basson. He's been average at best so far this year Mvovo and Aplon are both much more deserving.

Do you know who this Van Heerden winger is that the board clown is babbling about?

Soooooooo ... you've changed your mind regarding Kruger, hey chubbs ... how come??

Flip is not a Bok either ..... hellooooooooooooooo!!

One needs at least a single brain cell to qualify for Bok selection. This man's as thick as ... welll ... as you I guess. Poor dear!!.

Basson should never have been allowed anywhere near the Bok camp. Perhaps a wizard in the air but that is as far as his talent goes.

Aplon, as illusive as he is, just doesn't do it for me. Tooooo damn small. He's gonna get hurt and cost us a match oneday.. Besides ... a backline player wearing a scrumcap drives me insane.

Maybe the same selection policy counts for him as it does for Rory Kleinveldt in the Protea team????? Should've been Habana on the left and Aplon on the right.

Allot of people do not rate Basson for numerous reasons.

One is he looks more like a chess player than a rugby player.

He must be the thinest unhealthy looking rugby player in world rugby.

-

Although I would say that a wingers primary role is to score tries.

Basson holds the Curry Cup record for the most tries in a season.

He has also finished the SuperX as tied leading try scorer.

-

Although at test level he has been poor. I think Meyer is just giving an oppertunity to come right at test level because his try scoring ability has been good elsewhere.

-

I would have preferred Aplon who I think by now should have recieved many more test caps. He reminds me of Breyton Paulse who made up for his lack of size through a solid tackling technique.

Vanheerden is also good but allways seems to be the waterboy.

Please people I think it's V d Heever you are on about. As everybody's should know by now,  the back 3 are reserved for POS' s. We can be lucky Willie is at 15 and De Jongh is injured. Sad to say,  but that's how it is.

Disagree on Mvovo, he has been good this year and should have been rewarded ahead of Basson. That miss against the Argies was a misjudgement, it happens.

Mvovo has been in good form, has pace to burn and tends to beat that first defender.

Rooi, Moz is on about Gerhard v/d Heever and I agree with him. v/d Heever is a good wing who has a raw deal at the Stormers.

Other selections I am not impressed with was Spies, Alberts and Louw......Alberts has gone, which is a blessing......but I would liked to have seen our loose trio made up of 3 of the following:

Kolisi, Botha, Coetzee, Brussouw, Labascagne or v/d Walt.

Hougaard out of the match 23 is also a poor call

Im also a little surprised about Basson but i think Meyer will give all his wings a chance over this tournament.

To be honest we havent really seen any good wings except for Rhule and the playmaker Willie Le Roux. Mvovu has been average as have habanna and Aplon.

Van der Heever is a very good player just playing for the wrong team!

Hougaard has been crap and doesnt deserve to be in the squad!

Flip is more of an impact player who will give away at least 1 penalty in 10 minutes.A full game will be a nightmare for the boks.

Alberts should have been on the bench in any case as he does not have enough game time. Lappies is the form no. 7 , but from what ive seen of Botha hes looked strong and fast so no complaints here.We have some young exciting loose forwards so dont see a problem there.

Meyer's selections for this team are pretty good!

This argument about Basson is really not neccesary at all - he had a very poor Super 15 this year - even because he was mostly off injured - he scored no tries this year and was really very poor in the games he played in. But he has a Blue Bulls contract and Van den Heever had the audacity to leave the Bulls when Meyer was around. So no Van den Heever and definitely Basson. Meyer had a definite peculiarity he preferred players who are not matchfit and are poor in Super 15 to players who actually performs well - so what else is new.

Anyone who thinks Mvovo is international quality needs his bloody head examined. He is only great with a open try liine before him as he relies on his speed. No space nor a open try line he is as useless as Pierre Spies in a ruck

Van der Heever is a test class wing whose career has been been hinderd by the blundering Allistair Coetzee as has deon Fourie as a flanker.

Mvovo has improved a lot this season - more physicality. I however feel Bsson is not a bad player and look forward to seeing how he goes. He has genuine pace as has JJ. We may see some fireworks.

Thought he had a decent game today.

Scored one try, but the one he set up with the offload when being tackled by 2 players to Jean who looped onto his outside was sensational.
