Interesting people? You are entitled to your opinion, but the fact of the matter is that there is very little rugby debate on SS. I was not unwelcome on SS I left because I was sick and tired of the uncultured garbage that goes on there. Each and every thread is dragged into personal attacks. Take that away and you have nothing. The rugby acumen on SS is virtually non-existant. At best you have reems of squad lists or shallow talk of who is better than who. Any effort to add depth to discussion is attacked. I put a lot of time and effort into my posts and I realised that SS was not the platform for anything of depth or substance. The very reason why the now most prominent posters are trash reflects the forum's decline. I will never forget one of Duke's last posts on SARugby.net. It was a list of prescribed insults that we were supposed to use to add to the 'banter'. He thrives on discord; he and his mob have turned SS into something more akin to the squabbles on News24. If you take the time to review SS you will find that I stayed away from threads that were not rugby related and avoided spats with people. That attitude was never sufficient though as the gutter trash on SS were not there for anything other than mud slinging. You say good riddance to us, but I assure you that it's your loss alone.

 Aristokrat, you are as entitled to your opinion as Johan is to his. You are making a sweeping and general statement about another site. All sites have there hypocrites and all communities have their hypocrites. I do not often post on these kinds of discussion forums, but I do enjoy reading them, and I an sorry  to say, but even this site has it's fair share of back-biting and bullshitting hypocrites if you look closely.

Oneeb, I posted 7012 posts there (Not to mention the thousands of posts on SARugby.net over eight years). I was one of the most active members on that forum and know it and the people there very well to say the least. I have made no sweeping general statements; I stated facts. You cite some incidents here, they are not even half of what goes on on SS. that too is another fact.

 I have only just registered on this site today. Although I have been reading the posts as a visitor for quite some time. 

Recently I've noticed an increase in posts since certain members have joined. Namely Denny, Beeno and some others. I read with interest, and some mirth, their posts re their previous forum and out of curiosity went to take a look at the other forum. (I had to register on that one) 

Too cut a long story short. Like JohanJvR above, I'll be leaving this forum directly after I post this. I will definately join the community on the other forum and post there. The reasons being. Having looked at both sides of the story, so to say, I can only but wonder why the likes of Denny & Beeno were not banished and struck from the roll much earlier. I can not believe the level of  derogatory BS that they have spoken about the other forum and about it's members. What a bunch of decent fun people with a good grasp of rugby. Some entertaining characters for sure, but none who slander Aussie and NZ posters as I have seen here.  

To the Admin of this site/forum, is that you take action against and rein in those that spread dissention otherwise this forum will never amount to much.

Johan you seemed a little home sick here, so you should probably go back. For myself I would never post on a Board that banned posters.....free speech you know. Sometimes one's sense of decency has to prevail.

I have to say though, I am surprised at the tone of your posting. This Board has been a little hard to find, but is now stirring with some new life. I'm not sure why you feel it necessary to pour cold water on everything and walk out in a hissyfit.

As for my posting here, I will be quite prolific once there is rugby to talk about.

Ceradyne, there are a few good people on SS. To them I harbor no ill will. With regards to the people that I targetted, yes I would very much use the word trash. I will always consider attacks on people's families and culture trashy. When I posed rugby questions they were never answered.

To all genuine members here, please make no mention of the other side and do not respond to or make mention of it's members. I want to link this forum to places that will direct a lot of traffic. We need to drop the other side to the curb and concentrate on here. If you ignore them, they will go away. And that's always a more favourable outcome.

I have to agree with the site admin. There is no need for people to stir across the forums.  

I also agree with 'card as it is quite difficult to see who it is stirring the pot and speculation just makes it worse.  There is no need for it, life is not a competition.  Every one is free to come and go as they wish without the need to persue old nonsense.

What should in effect happen is the one board should play SuperBru against the other in healthy competition rather than slandering each other, be that by nic or by URL name. So, who will set that one up?

Why would you want to play Superbru against denny, Card, Beeno and myself all of whom you personally banned? That surely is the height of hypocrisy.

There's a lie, some of us can't even see the SS site, that's how paranoid you lot are.  And Taipan comes on Board and immediately says I'm lying about my departure from SS. Actually I have said little about that.....but since you guys wont let it go, here are the facts for the record:

1) I was a member of that Board who contributed  generously to Barlee's request for funds....enough for 10 members at least.

2) I had my run ins with Board members, but never commented on politics, religion, family members or tried to belittle posters' genuine views.

3) When you became Board Administrator Hawkeye you had to have a little power trip. You decided to relegate some (but not all) non rugby postings....completely based on whether they met your likes and dislikes.

4) After a few such incidents I said I was out of there. Within minutes you eliminated my account so I couldn't even respond to direct messages of farewell.

5) Barlee then wrote to me asking what he could change to bring me back. I responded honstly but politely. I never even got the courtesy of a reply to the message he requested.

6) Next I was blocked from even viewing the SS site along with others.

7) In the meantime SS supporters have hacked this site and made a number of derogatory postings here.

That's a remarkable record of defensiveness. And after all that to suggest the two sites compete in some sort of competition is painfully naive.

This site may never be as active as SS, but it will survive. And I for one will never post again on SS while you and Barlee are involved.....you have acted like vindictive cowards.

As is obvious by my name I am Stu from Supersupporter. I registered on this board after Super Sport closed but have not posted here as I joined Supersupporter.

I am only posting here to set the record straight. I am sure that Beeno, Mozart and Denny can all attest that I have never gotten involved in any nasty, personal spats with any of them. I often took part in the good natured banter between posters as did these three.

If Alucard (Aristocrat) was honest he would also agree. We got along well enough although some light hearted jibes were shared. I dare him to argue otherwise.

The only time I have ever personally insulted a poster was after Alucard called me igonorant and stupid. After others got involved, he left Supersupporter in a huff, vowing never to return. If you dispute this I can provide the proof. There was no other reason for your leaving.

What was more laughable, was that he grovelled back to Supersupporter under a new name (Blitzen) and denied it even when most of us cottoned on. Even then I had digs at him about it, but I still kept it as good natured banter.

I therefore put it to you that the comment you made about me on this board which I have quoted above, is a blatant lie. Please give me one example that proves your point. If Mozart, Beeno and Denny were man enough they would agree. I can promise you that the other posters here will soon get to realise the type of person you really are. A snivelling little coward who can't take it when his personal attacks are thrown right back at him.

Well Stu for my part, I always thought you were one of the good guys, with a nice, sophisticated sense of humour. But when a Board turns on it's supporters.....and quality posters like Cosh and Mo are excluded because they somehow weren't sufficiently respectful to Barlee, problems must follow. Add the anti WP stuff, Duke's pornographic fetishes (the man is really a sicko) and Taipan's incessant gadfly attacks....and it all became rather lousy.

And it's obvious there was no interest in quality improvement....just a desire to shut up any dissonant views.

Quite simply several posters from SS have tried to carry over their trash from SS over to here. That Auge is not our fault. You lost good rugby posters because of the chaff you defend. If you cannot see that then you must be no better than the mob. It's not a case of them lowering themselves; they were dragged up that way. It is us that must allow ourselves to be embroiled in this nonsense! The very reason we left was to get away from that tripe. So as I say auge, sober up and sober up fast. Allow my 5 cents worth....

Except for JVR, Stu and Hawkeye using their familiar nicks other SS posters haven't...why?...Oneeb for example, is that "Twilly"...I can only ask and guess, but using a different nick conjures up suspicions and creates doubts and at the end of the day a nick change destroys any credibility that poster might have had if he or she had posted under their familiar nick. For that reason I won't be responding to their utterances.

Hawkeye, You can kick and scream all you like but the simple truth is that our accounts were deleted from the SS site soon after we were decent enough to state our dissatisfaction. You even deleted a Xrissie Greeting of mine....I complained and Barlee re-instated the message. That explains your totalitiarnism on that site. Your dislike of free speech is well documented and  leanings towards a certain few favourites were noted. Tell me, how does a Porno blog enjoy privilege on a Rugby site?

Johan, I'm not exactly sure what Beeno or I have said for you to throw a tantrum and shriek your way off this board.....neither do I know of any insult or abuse directed at you by the two of us. Judging by the drama you've created it sounds like you've suffered an intolerable amount of abuse and insults.

That said I also remember you threatening to leave the SS site(not long after joining) and from what we understand now,you made several complaints to Barlee, who, with your permission posted your complaint for all to read. So then, it's very obvious that screaming off is one of your well practised attention seeking routines. Tell you what, I won't miss you, I won't be standing in a queue begging wee mommies cry baby to stay like they did on SS...Go...just make sure you close the door behind you on the way out! By the way, there's a whole philosophy on the subject matter "indispensable"...invest in it.

There's one or two other things to be said and more directed at members of this board.

(A) Soon after joining this site, members of the SS site stalked us and  directed unprovoked insults at Beeno and myself. The important thing to realise is that we never stirred their provocation and basically we put it down to their childishness and jealousy.I'd like to underscore the gravity of those insults by cutting and pasting them but unfortunately they were deleted in the crash we suffered.  I in turn passed on their posts to the powers that be to stop them from dragging down this site.

(B) We do not hold any grievance(s) to any of the posters on SS or to the SS site to warrant going on there and causing a disruption like they have on here.

(C) I can safely speak for the group and say we are all relatively happy to be here and we'll endeavour to improve both the membership and quality of this site.

(D) There is no hate or bitterness towards any nationality or creed in my book, banter is one thing, hate driven posts are another, the latter I dispise. There will be times when banter will be construed other than intended, such is the nature of cyberspace and allowances should be made for such a happening.

(E) It's unfortunate but yes I will always miss the pleasure of the good guys on the SS site but I will never unethically go on there to invite their members across like they have on this site. Our membership is increasing at the rate of knots much to the jealousy of some, but I daresay, by the same token, much to the delight of others. 

 I too have left after this post after just two days. The quality level is just too low to bother. Far too much of the banter crosses the line into personal attack. This forum does SA rugby supporters a disservice!  

As I have already stated; There isn't a single post on here that can match the vitriol on SS. And the worst of what's on here has been EXCLUSIVELY instigated by the SS members. So Hudrickit, your argument goes down in flames.

There's a very good laugh put out by Hawkeye that we or more specifically Mozart has instigated the vitriol and not SS members. It's only  funny in this sense that they've found their way here and not us finding our way to their site. Apart from that, when this all started awhile ago he himself came on here to discourage his members from that kind of behaviour. He's also putting across a rather lopsided idea that it's probably one of us posting under different nicks. Cry me a river.....has he no class to spread such lies and deception!?

Seriously consider that. Technically it is a superb site. If you thonk the fault here lies only with those who have deaprted you are sadly mistaken.

I would like to restate that my account was deleted after I had asked that it would not be deleated and hawker had given me assurances it would not be. I got a message from Barlee saying since I would not be posting on SS my account was deleted. I told Barlee this was incredible and explained why. SS folk will know I said MANY times I would NOT be closing my account as I would be coming back to say hi from time to time.

I GOT NO RESPONSE FROM BARLEE OR HAWKER. NOT  AWORD. HAWKERS UNDETAKING TO ME WAS BROKEN.  PLEASE NOTE HAWKER THIS HAPPENED BEFORE I SAID ANYTHING NEGATIVE ABOUT SS. Frankly that was the last straw.

We are now here on SA Rugby and are intent in building this website into the best SA Rugby forum. The board is growing exceptionally well and more folk will be joining. Its a great pity that things turned out this way but they have.
