......to see a young man, playing for Dartmouth, I believe, with an amputated arm. Amputated above the elbow. This youngster had great sense for the game, he caught the ball and passed very accurately with his handicap.
But perhaps it wasn't a handicap. Perhaps it sharpened every other faculty he could bring to the game.
Rugby has alway been a superior game to soccer and American football because it allows for all physical types. Some of the greatest players in the history of the game were small chappies, including Mannetjies Roux our most dynamic back ever.
Lets hope we remain an inclusive game at the highest levels.
