i watched a documentary the other day on the plane crash which killed members of the 58 manchetser united soccer team, and it got me wondering, what if such a tragic accident was to occur to the All Blacks (God forbid and bite my tongue) and none of the players or coaches there on the 2013 EOYT was available for 2015 onwards.
i then started thinking of players who would most likely represent the All Blacks as coach and who the players would be and this is what i came up,,,
coach
IMO there are three candidates for the job, grham henry, dave rennie and robbie deans.
my pick is simple, dave rennie and he is to be assited by wayne smith who is familiar with All black ins and outs as well as rennie.
reniis is simply the best coach in not only NZ, but also at spXV. folks can talk up all the jake whites and ewan mackenzies they want, but rennie has been coaching at spXV level for two years and has two super rugby titles, even more amazing considering it was the chiefs who was the NZ conference wooden spooners the year before rennie took them to their first title.
henry would be a logical choice cos he is the most successful professional coach ever, but a situation like this shouldnt stop the All Blacks from continuing to develop woth the future in mind.
deano has got experience too, but hes been tainted by the yellow bellied dingos and thats just no good.
so dave rennie is head coach and wayne smith is the assistant coach.
players
here is a 36 man squad i think that coach rennie should pick, it would eventually be cut down with members cut making the wider training squad, but they would still have a heavy involvement considering the situation.
