The team I am putting forward now is by no means a done deal but with the RWC looming large if I was Meyer I will be pooling rabbits from a hat by now knowing that my arch rival has a full house for the previous season.We need to think drastically and act efficiently.I will justify my selections after wards. 1:Beast 2:Bismarck 3: Jannie 4:Etzebeth 5:Spies* 6:Vermealen* 7:Lappies 8: Alberts 9:du Preez* 10:Lambie 11: Habana 12: Stefan Watermeyer 13:Jordaan 14 Mvovo 15:Le Roux 16: Julian Redlinghuyse 17: Derick Minnie 18: Adrian Straus 19: Oosthuizen 20: Van der Merwe 20:Marnitz Boshoff 21: JP 22:Jj 23:Reinach 24: De klerk 25:Alwyn Hollenbach 26:F Venter. *We had enormous versatility in Danie Resouw that played both 4,6 and 8.I am not a fan of Spies but he is an athletic player that I think will do well in 5.He jumps for the Bulls,and he does it well.If we could breed him in to the same roll as Danie then we might have something special.At 9 du Preez still remains the general.He is miles still ahead of any up coming talent but we might see a move towards Reinach in the RC. I think PSD is a prospect for the future.Honestly,I wouldn't take him to the RWC.RWC 2019...DEFINITELY. Also think Vermealen is more a blind side.I don't rate Flouw that highly.He is the safe choice.We don't need safe in the Boks,we need wild mad dogs.Flouw,is not that. Lets hope the only place that Botha,Matfield,M Steyn and Burger get in the RWC is in the stands next to the other retired players.Like Richie McCaw....????????

 Arizona

I think in some ways you really hit the nail on the head.  There was one thing that was clear as daylight to me this weekend - there is no place for players like Burge and Matfield in Super 15 anymore and consequently also not higher up.  Burger got injured yesterday - because the game was way above his league - which at best should be recreational rugby.  In the case of the Bulls - there scrumming was very competitive until Matfield came on - then it went on retreat phase.  Same happened in the Sharks game.

I differ from you in respect of Spies - he has the physique - but he totally lacks grunt - he is a second Juandre Kruger.   I would rather move Alberts into the lock position - he is not mobile enough to be a loosie.  But then we have to strengthen the line out Jumping by using players like Arno Botha or Du Toit at 7.  Have a problem with Arno though - he seems to be injury prone.

 I left a few players out Mike just because in light of a squad for the world cup I thought this might be my best guess.I know that we have plenty of talent.But plenty of talent doesnt always win RWC's.It has been proved time and time again that talent combined with experience is what brings home the gold. Arno is one of them.And yes he has injury difficulties but maybe its due to the fact that some guys are blooded to quickly just for the sake of performance.I like Arno.I think he is in recovery and will be on the come back trail...I mean for goodness sake if Matfield can be re-instated then anything is possible.I also left Goosen out for the very same reason.I think RC games will be good platforms for them to step up to and make an impression. Yeah Spies...man one can only wonder why he is such a F&%$£king softy.But like I said this is my best guess.I can almost guarantee come selection time we will all be stunned yet again by selections from our country. Others that need to show if they are worth any look in is Taute,F Steyn,F Hougaard,H Brussouw.Those that will be unlucky not to make selection will be the likes of L De Jager,L Adrianse,D Minnie,W Whitely,F Kirsten.

@foreverarizona,

"I dont know what a saffa is and I regard the term in the same light as calling an African man a nigger
But,if you did not know that by now,then it explains a lot"
u dont know what a word commonly used to describe a person from south africa is, so u jump to an extreme as regarding it as the same as the N word is to black man???

i know exactly the kind of boer u are, the same kind that gave so many saffas a very dark name.

FYI, i only asked cos of these comments u made,,,
"6:Vermealen* 7:Lappies 8: Alberts"
Also think Vermealen is more a blind side.I don't rate Flouw that highly.He is the safe choice.We don't need safe in the Boks,we need wild mad dogs.Flouw,is not that."

the No6 is not the blindside flanker for the Boks, the No7 is.
in south africa, the No7 is blindside, and No6 is openside, while for nearly the rest of the world its the other way round any true saffa or south african for the socially inept would have know this, especially one who claims to have been raised in SA for 23 years.

dont worry, im not surprised at knowing more about south african rugby than a south african, knowing rugby is not what saffas are known for,,,,, nor is playing it if ur malnourished trophy cabinet is anything to go by,

lesson 1
in SA
No6 = openside
No7 - blindside

lesson 2
its wrong to use the N word to describe africans, especially when ur a dutch boer.
but if u dont what saffa means, or simple positions in rugby, than that is bound to be beyond u.

now this is where u reply to me, and thats an order from ur NZ rugby superior,

Btw…are you Ma-u-rie CUNT!?!?!?"
