If the more than average allister no tries coetzee still is a coach how on earth could plums be sacked ? shows the difference in views. more than 6 or 7 years in the job old coetzee is still in his so called building phase ?
If the sharks dumped plums how on earth is allister coetzee still employed ???????
I just wish that they would get rid of AC once and for all. The Stormers had the perfect chance to hire Brendan Venter but the Sharks beat us to that. The guy has to go, it is time the public vote with their feet and stop going to games.
Once the stadium stand empty maybe then the blaizers will realise to get rid of AC. The WP under 21's have been playing fantastic rugby over the last 3 years and most of the talent are coming through for the Stormers only to be pegged back by dumb coaching.
How many talented players has he lost due to bad management.
Go back to earlier days. How in the world was Allistair made Bok backline coach????????????????????
How was ou pdv made Bok head coach. How as Loubscher the bulle Vodacom backline coach made Bok backline coach?
Its all racist nonsense.
Did you see how SAA will no longer train whites as pilots? Job discrimination in SA is shocking.
There is no use in sugar coating this we all know the reason. Call a spade a spade.
As for Plum he was extremely unlucky in that he had 19 ofhis squad injured. What is interesting was anyone with half a brain cell would know how this affected the sharks very negatively. Yet the opportunity was taken to remove him. Now one can make an argument out for saying there as a need for fresh ideas. However I sincerely believe the Sharks could have made the a big impression this year. Why fix what isnt broken.
Venter though is a good coach and the Sharks should do well with him at the helm. Unfortunate for Plum.
could not agree more kingcorn and beeno........if no tries coetzee was any other skin colour he would have been fired a long time ago.....
on the issue of venter i am sorry he is a great defence coach. he masterminded the jake white rush defence and was also instrumental in helping the cheetahs defence pattern for a while but he cant coach a dynamic up tempo modern ELV team.....NH is not SH . john smit is well known for making bad business decisions and has make blunders in terms of investments ext so i am not very confident in his leadership role at the sharks. to be fair john started off as badly as anyone could have started. sacking the coach that build a team even when your not even in the door shows how the shotgun regime of john smit will be conducting themselves. the least he could have done is ease venter into the role with plums in some sort of capacity to advise maybe. both of them could have been part of the setup and the sharks would have been better off for it.
but the shotgun approach prevailed it seems
and how many trophies have Plum won now again? Allistair took a bunch of laaities and beat a Sharks team that was clear favorittes.
well if you have 7 odd years at a job with the biggest union in SH in terms of revenue with the biggest talent pool then surely you need to get something somewhere hey mate...its like fishing with a hand grenade ?....longest stint of any local coach and his record is still not as good as plums.
sharks won it in 2008 and 2010 just by the way so the little jab at plums skille is unfounded......just looking at the type of game allister coaches the WP wont be winning to much with him at the helm
Employment is given to the mediocre here in South Africa. That and of course the relevant skin colour.
They fuck up as far as they go yet it seems mediocrity has become an acceptable way of life in this country.
The rest of the world strives for improvement ... not here ... as long as the demographics is right ... all's good with the world.
Eish!!!!
jip but BEEE and al the other nice polically correct employment options are meant to implode and stiffle a economy. as our central system shows it only benefits a tiny elite while the economic growth is in a downward spiral.
As much as I enjoy the Super Series, it impairs rugby..injuries and extreme fatigue..it's obvious in Tendai and Jannie. Rugby is becoming like bloody soccer...too much of it,
I love rugby, but I love my wife far much more...if's that's a ridiculous statement, my family first and should I say my God very FIRST.
I'm no differerent or even better than you but am getting a bit long in the tooth but want say this...love your rugby but do not not make it a god..
There are other pleasures that surpass even this beautiful game. It is not the end of the world when your team loses... as hulle se in Afrikaans..."more is nog a dag".
Saffa's like NZ'ers tend to worship this game but it is very small in the universe. It's a very small activity. Granted we love it and there's nothing wrong with that provided we balance all other things in our life...like taking your wife out to an exhibition or movie when your favourite team is being played or visiting your friend who is in hospital dying from cancer.
To worship something that only pleases you is extreme selfishness.
Get your priorities straight...I think Super Rugby just fills bank balances and kills the human body and test matches. They say the LOVE and WORSHIP of money , not money ITSELF which all intelligent people know we need, is the ROOT of all evil.
The monster entrepreneurs and organisations that drive this quest delude us so often...they are the profiteers of the world.
Just get a balance and don't get a thrombi from rugby...just enjoy when can afford to watch it at anybodys expense.
I think I remember Juba (Andre Joubert) saying that one day he was not chosen for the Sharks side driving in his car for another priority...cannot remember what it was but tuning in the radio to hear how his teammates were doing...not even at the match but doing something else that what was a priority.
Your god???
Who would that be??
Not that mass murdering tyrant ... surely not??
I guess each to his own, huh!!
