Now Juandre Kruger will be returning to the Bulls as well.
The overseas teams now have the cream of the crop, and no longer want our older players. To add salt to the wound the geriatrics are all returning because no one else wants them...
Mozart and AO will be very happy to see Morne and some of the other rugbt geriatrics playing for the bulls again.
What about Frans Steyn - last I heard Montpellier is not renewing his contract and he was looking for an SA franchise to play for? .
I feel neutrality concerning Morné. I haven't seen him play since 2016. Brits was one of the better South Africans in this year's Super rugby. As per Juandre? I never did regard him even in his youth. If a youngster cannot beat an old man out for a position, what does that tell you about the next gen? Right now, only Andre can compete with Frans at 12, and Brits has only been bettered by Marx.
I think it's a good thing for these players to come back and share their xp with the younger players. Surly Herschel Jantjies benefited from having Vermaak in the mix. Lots of things Brits could teach the younger front-rowers...wasn't there a sudden surge in the Bools front row after struggling for years?

Frans Steyn has never "towered" over anyone.
He had a short spell of outstanding play back in 2007 ... and then faded away, never to realize his potential.
It's a decade later and he is by far more of a washout now than he's ever been.

Frans's best position for the Boks was 15. Go check his stats at 15 vs 12 vs 10...think he played a few games at wing too. I put up a complete summery graph on this site a few years ago...took me a some time to get all the data sorted and tabled to proof my gut feeling, so I'm not doing it again just to prove a point.
His best position was 15. He done well with extra space.
However given the length of time he has been in the game including knee surgery, he probably no longer has the pace to play at 15 at the international level.
Some of his best contributions were long-distance dropkicks, and also kicking for a position on the field.

Hos kicking game was always defective and the successful long drop kicks vanished years ago. Take for instance his out-of-hand kicking - he said a huge record of ball possession losses in the 2014 WC was responsible mainly for making aimless and poorly directed kicks.
Steyn was never a speed merchant and his huge weight problem cauised hi to be even slower at present than he used to be in 2007,
I would have preferred another loosie combination -definitely not Louw anywhere near the squad. I was also a bit surprised by Elstadt playing at 6 - he is a seven Shpuld have been a Springbok years ago ahead of a player like Alberts.
