I just spoke to Frans Malherbe's father. He said that Frans told him yesterday that after further evaluation of the Etzebeth injury - it was found to be not as serious as originally thought and he is out of rugby for only 6 weeks. He will be ready for the start of Super 15 in 9 weeks time. Great news that one.
Frans himself got a hairline fracture of one rib as a result of am accidental kick in the ribs by a player. He is already in training - the Stormers has their first training camp lasting until 20 December and then break up - starting training again on 3 January 2014. The poor buggers is earning their living the hard way.
