Schalks 4 turnovers were a result of poor support of the ball carrier. du Toit was utterly useless doing nothing. Doing so little in fact tgat it was easy to miss him altogether when pointing fingures. No effectiveness in those carries and poor breakdown work and a Japanese side that planned to strike the defense cleanly by opening up space in the midfield cost us dearly. Note too Lood lost a lineout, Victor didn't. So in conclusion 10-12-13 were outplayed, and our loose trio was outplayed. Japan created space our midfield did not. Our back three were not the problem.

Still trying to figure out where all this hype about PSDT comes from. Looks like a bog average player in all respects. Slow around the pitch, no physical presence and no better than any of the old guys on the day.

Du Toit was far better than old Alberts. At least du Toit works hard.
What was needed was a more mobile pack.Ideal pack for this match would be:Kitshoff, Strauss, KochEben, LoodKriel , Burger (capt) and Coetzee.Backs:Reinach?/Faf De KlerkPollard, Allende, Kriel,Habana, ?, Willie
The right wing position is a problem. There are a number of unproven candidates
We refuse to choose our side with the opposition taken into acount. Everyone knew the blossoms would move the ball around. We palyed a collectively slow loose trio. Louw can play 6 but is a better 7 - he was also seriously underdone. Now against a big physical pack we tweak things . Its not one size its all.
Meyer was completely and utterly outplayed by Jones.

Pakie -= missed the role played by Du Toit in the two maul tries of the Springboks completely - now don't you. Du Toit had to play a tighter game because Matfield was not doing his job in the Tight 5.

How the heck is Matfield even in the team??? It is like if NZ still had chris Jack, or Brad Thorn in the team. It boggles the mind. Estebeth and De Jager should be the starters from now on Du Toit on the bench. But I guess Matfield well continue to start.
