So we did see much if Pollard during the international season and we all thought that Rassie is putting the start put to greener pastures but the reality is far from it. What really transpired is the sheer amount of minutes that Pollard played. For the 25 season stemming from 24, he played close to 2000 minutes of rugby with 28 games before rolled into the new season. That is more than any other bok. The reason for this is that Leicester wanted to get every ounce out of him before he headed off to the bulls and given how much they were paying him, one can't blame them.

What also notice that Pollard form took a bit of a dip. He was slotted to start against Ireland but then picked up and Achilles injury before the game and not to mention his wife recently gave birth.

He did have an absolute nightmare game for the bools but what he really needs a good break, which Rassie has some really well to protect him.

I for one hope we can say goodbye to Libbok. That Pollard come back much stronger and that we unearth another bok 10.

But with the world cup 2 years away, I don't think that will happen soon.

What's your thoughts on Pollard

Definitely not done. If you are going to play a very tight test who do you want to close it out. Pollard is still and option and certainly not too old.

I think he has been given a breather.

See how he goes for the Bulls. Could be a bit rusty and might take a game or two to hit his straps.

With all their returning Boks and players from injury the Bulls look like atop side.

I really hope Jurie Mathee gets a chance…his cross kicks, distribution and kicking to poles, is spot on.

As to Pollard, the man has ice in his veins and we will need him at the WC 27…he should have a good rest.

Not sure either way. Pollard is a player Meyer nearly destroyed in 2015 and in 2016 and 2017 he rarely played any rugby. He had injures at the time.

When Erasmus became coach he asked for Polalrd to provide his own views on the role of flyhalf in teh mdern game and he became the player he was since then.

Pollard has on problem that bothered him and that were strings of injuries that caused long absences from playing. Over the years his pace came down and some decision making became more difficult to implement, As a result he had one game on URC and his present perfomances will have to be judged as to what happened in that series and in th EEC this year, and pbviously also the tests to be played in 2026.

That remains the key to his performances at present, Since 2021 he was conracted by Montpellier and did not really made a major imapct on the team performances - so he was released to play for Leicester - where he was not a house on fire either, In the URC match he plaed in for the Bulls he was substandard - so we will have to see how he develop n the URC and ECC series to be played before the next series and also in tests in July 2026 and alter tests in 2026.

I think it s too early to make a real assessment of his future test match potential and wait to see how thin s develop over the next year,
