Is having overseas based players good for the boks?

In the past we never had to worry about picking players that were based overseas as we felt that we had decent enough players to choose from, but with 10 overseas based players in the current squad is this good for the boks. 

Personally I think that we should only select boks that have been playing overseas for less than 12 months, any time over that we should stop considering them. 

My reasoning is that I want competition in the squad but at the same time allow players the oppertunity to get make some money in their short career.

 Players that split their contracts between Japan and Super rugby has no value for our rugby. They are taking opportunities away to develop players. For example Peter Grant and JP can't play for the boks as their Japan clubs won't allow them to but they can play the Stormers and Cheetahs. I would either have players play in Europe and be available and not taking up positions to develop future boks.

A shit load of cash or a Springbok selection which is no honor anymore cause of the quota thing. Too late to call it only part opf a elite group anymore.

Sp according to that when the Bulls players fall out of selection they fuck off over to England or France. So Van Zyl is next 

 I agree, I think that only Habana and Louw should've selected. Kirchner and can keep on going.

 I reckon if we go with kolisi ans Senatla, would help the boks and keep the politicians at bay. 

i agree with what mikey said, the Boks picking players based only in SA wont stop players from flocking overseas, but it will help slow down the current flood of players moving.

its questionable though the impact that SA only based players would have against the All Blacks and wallys, but i dont think they would do too bad.

this is a pretty sweet team for SA based players only, and as far as i know, they are all ready to play now, the squad will look even better when the injuries start to clear up.

when it come to meyer, reading between the lines he just dosne thave the same level of faith with the players based in SA that he should have.

losing players like habana shouldnt be viewd as a loss, but an opportunity for someone else to stamp their rugby claims.

woody is still based in NZ, but despite him not starting any of the june tests, hes still NZs best looseheads, his age though is a serious factor.
loosehead prop and hooker is the All Blacks worst positions for depth, but if pushed came to shove, it would be acceptable to play the big matches with crocektt or ben franks, but i think we can and should do better taumafuina should learn to play loosehead,

i know the saffas dont rate thorn, but both thorn and woddy are rated very very highly in NZ when they were picked, unlike gunthro who IMO has been kak since 2010, an opinon shared by many of the saffa here and on other forums.
