I think that's about right....but so many of these refs are school master types. They always seem to have a confrontational relationship with the players. Ditto for Rolland. Taute though, has had some shocking games, notably i nvolving WP.

Mozie, what are your thoughts on reverting back to the old form of scrums? (AND I hear hear Link going "NOOOOOooooooooo" - because as long as the scrum is a lottery, even weak scrummaging teams such as the Wallabies have an advantage - so expect more Link love-letters to the IRB before future Test Matches involving the Wallabies)

I agree the scrums are a mess. But the touch/ engage thing had its own issues. . I think the scrums are still too far apart, promoting a mini hit vs just a shove. I thought the French tighthead was using the space to bridge and stretch out Crockett, who then had trouble keeping his feet. Get rid of the space and these options disappear.

Scrums are such a mess. I think the should drop the ref saying "OK 9" & let the 9 put the ball in when he likes. If he takes too long or the scrum is moved too far of the mark then it is a re-start; if he does it twice in a row his team looses the put- in or it is a free kick.
The tinkering with the scrum rules is designed to protect the players. This latest rule gives the advantage to the team not putting the ball in as the hooker of the team putting the ball in cannot push and hook at the same time.

hey Cloudy. The condition of the field was shameful for such a well renown city as Paris (personally I think Paris is over-rated lol). The condition most of our NZ Country fields are definitely 100 times better than that tuft.
The Millenium stadium was like as you've said a cow paddock - and that was with the roof closed.
I truely hope these fields are sorted out before the 2015 RWC - we don't want anything slowing down the ABs do we Beeno????
