it is nice to see that Amla is still making a cetury

However - when he and De Kock opened the batting yesterday, the result was telling.   De Kock scored 168 runs from 145 balls at a strike rate of 115,8 while Amla managed 110 runs from 112 balls at a strike rate  of 98,2.   De Kock hit 21 fours and 2 sixes, while Amla had 8 fours.
It has been repeatedly mentioned by commentators that the SA cricket team is aging and in another year or two it will be necessary to replace key players - Amla at 34 years of age is one of those.
The question is who will replace Amla in the ODI squad - my guess is that it would be Markram.   What should have been done in the ODI against Bangla Desh is to initiate Markram into the set-up, bat Ala at 3 and forget about Duminy.
One would call that replacement planning and phasing in of players and I hope the new coach start looking at the phasing in of a replacement programme  so that unlike the case was with Meyer - we do not end up at virtually an empty table when replacements of a permanent nature becomes a  nightmare.
