...a Bok backline with Hougaard, Goosen, Serfontein and JJ as the front four. Fragile, robotic, lacking in power and porous is usually not good. Especially accompanied by missed penalties from dead in front. It's going to get worse....look for some of these players to lose their starting S15 roles.

Lower down I wrote about Serfontein and Engelbrecht as a Bulls center pairing. I frankly am not impressed with either.
Hougaard yesterday had a solid game - but his best part was his kicking game. He stood further away from set pieces so as to give him more time to kick - but some kicks were really aimless and against teams like the Blues it would be a serious embarrassment.
I would not bet against all three the Bulls players mentioned losing the plot completely against the Blues this coming weekend.
As to Goosen - his main problem is his kicking at goal. I can understand missing longer and more difficult kicks - but he misses sitters - and that is totally unacceptable. He also seems to try and avoid contact - and Naas Botha said that seems to be o avoid further injuries. However, if you imply he is the one that will lose his position in Super 15 - you are barking up the wrong tree,

De Villiers played the worst two games of his life during the past two weeks. It is wonderful to say - "these experienced, older guys put out when it makes a difference."
The match on Saturday was crucial for the Stormers - and he was very poor. It is alarming to see how really poor he was outside one of the best 12's playing in all sides this past weekend. He never once followed De Allende in any breaks and ball carries the latter made and that shows really poor play.

Please no excuses - De Villiers was even worse the previous week - when he did play at 12. If De Villiers does not bug up - he will not be "one of our best with a 12 on his back" in June .

I could not find any line breaks De Villiers made looking at the above stats. I can remember one ball carry he had - but it came to nothing. The rest of the stats looked terrible - not what you would expect from a Springbok center.
What really stood out from the above stats is a ridiculously poor performance - so don't try and do a Saffex on us and start inventing things that did not happen. De Villiers got the ball and carry it for about 12 meters - no tackle broke - no line break.
Come now I expect better form you.

You apparently were lying about De Villiers's clean break - confusing it with a ball carry of about 12 meters or so. He did not break the line - he carried the ball and beat no defenders in the process.
Now who was lying through his stained teeth this time around? Still ignoring that De Villiers h ad two if his worst games I have ever seen him play?
