that the upcoming test will be the last at Newlands. I'm sure some of the diehards will be seriously sad that it's come down to WPRU being in a lot of debt and have no choice but to sell Newlands Stadium. There is so much history to Newlands that money can't buy.

Someone is making money off this and its not WP Rugby. Sad day, but i've made peace with it a few years ago. This could have been prevented, but you can't fix stupid. Helen Zille, Pat De Lille and the DA is partly to blame too...and the ANC. Newlands Rugby Stadium and the whole infrastructure in the area should have been upgraded for the 2011 FIFA WC. Now we sit with the hyper expensive, high maintenance Cape Town Stadium and are about to lose Newlands forever.
It was hard to see the "house of pain " get bulldozed and the WACA in Perth.Lining some bastards pockets counts for more than history I guess.
