One wonders why - because there are not muxc difference in the real team strength?

Dunedin 2012

This test could have been won - but for a pathetic kicking display by More Steyn - both kicking at goal and kicking out of hand.   And then we had Geyling on the bench and he really buggered up badly - very badly.

Soweto 2012

After a  very good test Goosen got injured early and we ended up with Earl Silky Hands in the critical  flyhalf position.   That was the end of the story in that test.   We were soundly beaten in that test.   We also had Taute - a vry good full back - playing at 13 and he suffered fromn leaky defense.

Eden Park 2013

Despite the referee  debacle leaving with the Springboks with 14 men on the field of play for nearly half the game we could have done much better - but Morne Steyn failed to find touch in the case of two penalty kicks and  that led to two tries being scored by the AB's.    If we had a full team for the whole game - the result might have been different.

Ellis Park

There are a variety of reasons we lost this test,  in the main -

*   pathetic defense by Wllen Alberts - gifting the AB's a try - as well s his obvious inability to recover balls from a tackled  player - aother gifted try; and

*   Morne's pathetic defense in that game and his pathetic decion - making in the case of the 2nd Messam try.

Wellington 2014

We were luckt Morne was not there to bugger up the game again - but in the end we could not win because of pathetic line out play by Matfield when we were on the attack.   ncidentally he did the same when the AB's was o the attack and it could have costed us a win.

When reviewing the recent past there a very few games we ought not to have won. Its either been a RAW or as in the recent test in nz - extreme luck for the abs.Given these two factors the nz record is a myth. Look how they won against the Irish! Or the burgalry that was the last WC.
Reality doesn' t match up with record.

It took PDV less time to beat the ABs so does that make PDV the better coach? He even beat the Lions.
