Sharkbok
Taute was always a full back and only played a handful of games at center. He is a good full back and a lousy center - whether Saffex loikes it or not.

Taute's form has improved but I would not say he is a highly skillful player, or at least he is another creatine guinee pig that has lost much of his ability to gain a few kg
Kolbe looks like is really starting to deliver at senior level. That try he setup for Dejong last week was top quality. I am looking forward to seeing how he goes in next years SuperXV.
Only reservation is his size on defence against the pacific Island descendant backs. Like is if he is up against that 125kg Crusaders winger, or even Julian Savea.

I do not know what happened to the Lions Taute, but the WP/Stormers Taute is a shadow of that player.
I really like Kolbe, he's going to exceed Aplon as SA pocket rocket. Aplon deserved more games at test level, it's quite insulting that Kirchner got picked over him and I very much doubt that Meyer will pick Kolbe because of how short the guy is even though his tackling is superb and he has a lionheart. Also hope that avoids the drink driving and other stupid mistakes that he could potentially make.

I warned about Taute from the start.....too slow in the head.
20 Aug 2014, 18:04#6
No you did not, after his first few matches for WP/Stormers then you began disliking him. You never watched a game of the Lions, so stop lying.
20 Aug 2014, 18:39#8
Look at the date you idiot, that was after the first RC where he got picked for the Boks. You did not judge him on his performances for the Lions nor his performances at fullback as he played outside center for the Boks as mentioned in your comment. Dickhead.
20 Aug 2014, 18:51#11
The general consensus of this thread is of Taute at fullback you idiot, where I might've been wrong on your judgement post or pre joining the Stormers isn't the main point. the point is about Taute at fullback. And when Taute put a few poor performances at fullback for the Stormers you furthered you're disliking for him.

"Furthered" is the right word.....not "began disliking him". But I suppose that's as much of an admission as I'll get out of you. Sonny boy you will find in life, people know when you are bullshitting. Continuing bullshitting when people know, makes you look very stupid. There is tremendous strength in just saying...."sorry, I got that wrong".

Who? Oh I guess you mean Alberts....the guy who realized in the blink of an eye the kicked ball had been touched by a Pommie player, so he was onside and could score the match winning try. You mean that kind of slow thinking?
20 Aug 2014, 20:15#15
I may of made a mistake by saying you began to dislike him after a few games by the Stormers, but I was completely correct in saying you didn't watch him play for the Lions or judge him as a fullback. You judged him on his performances as an outside center for the Boks.
Is that all you got to argue back? Pitiful, you've lost this argument and have become a hypocrite even according to you're own words.

What about Morne and Francois Steyn? They are not slow thinkers - they do not think at all - play like robots. Look for instance at the charge down kick of Morne on Saturday - any prize money for non-thinkers? Morne won first prize with that one on Saturday.
In any event Morne was found out in France for what he really is - a malfunctioning robot. Ass Slth to that list and you have a prized package of non-thinkers.

So after all this you did support Taute? So you didn't say from the start that Taute was going to be a failure...
Also that doesn't mean you watched him, you've given countless opinions on players when you haven't watched them and you watch one incident involving them and you finalise you opinion on them forever.

Ooh wow sharktwat, so because useless coetzee is not starting him, we should all bow down to his superior knowledge.
Sharktwat, I keep asking the question. How fucking stupid are you? The same idiot is wasting Ruan botha and elstadt on the bench not to mention dropping pat Howard from the bench after his last performance off the bench where he scored a great try.
Imagine being stupid enough and selecting average v/d spuy over Howard?
You get the picture idiot?

Saffex,
So you are saying that Taute is better than Kolbe?
Apart from an extra 10kg, what does Taute bring to the table over Kolbe?
22 Aug 2014, 03:03#23
No I never really supported JJ and what you've just quoted in an attempt to sidetrack is wrong, I have never said that.
I supported JJ for 13 as he was the best of a bad bunch, I'd much rather JJ over De Jong.
No, what you've done is stay on the fence. In your April 2012 comment you've said that he is more a fullback. You haven't based an overall judgement on the player.

Ceramoron
Mozart made a statement that Taute made errors because of "that kind of slow thinking".
I saod I agree with him on that statement - but added Taute is not lone in that. Mozart then asked who I think are slow thinkers and mentioned Alberts. I then gave the names of the Steyns. You are still the dofste Doos in the human envrpment/

JJ had a decent year last year, funny thing is I never said he was the answer to outside center. Just complemented his good form. And by best South African outside center I'm pretty sure I meant currently, so don't even go on that tangent.

Taute at 15 for the Lions was superb. He has never been the same after injury and trying to fit into the Stormers totally defensive game plan also didnt work.
Cheslin Kolbe weighs in at 79 kg. Taute at 98 kg. If Jaco could recover his Lions form under the new more attack orientation of WP/Stormers it would be a huge boost.
With wee groom (84kg), Coleman (84kg), de Jongh (88kg) Senata 76/79 kg Kolbe 79 kg we look to have too many microlights. Jean wont be around for much longer.
Its madness Howard is being held back like this. He and Allende should be our future center combo. Wee Allistair had better not think he can go too light in the Super 16 next year.
He also needs to ensure he has a quality hooker of size on board.
22 Aug 2014, 16:55#31
You do not understand the context of that present time. During the post of that comment, JJ was far and away the best outside center in South Africa, whether he benefited from Serfontein's good play or whatever he was the best South African outside center at the time. What I did was praise his form, I did not make any remarks stating he was going to be the incumbant for many years nor he was going to be the best outside center since readmission/Danie Gerber. The problem with you quoting me on previous comments is you get to pick and choose the comments, you could be ignoring other comments that support me. Quoting people from the past misses the context of that thread.
Read the above paragraph atleast 3 times so you can get that into your old and shrivelled brain.
