So much for Jake moving on as a coach, I must have been delusional when I made that call, maybe being clouded by the Sharks early success in the comp, when in reality the Sharks were getting by playing boring rugby.
The difference in the approach to the game today by the sides marks the massive issue we have in SA when it comes to our mindset and tactics.
The Saders looked to exploit opportunities while the Sharks chose to kick away their opportunities. How the fuck can a coach think that, that is a good thing to instruct his players to do.
Why not encourage and empower your players to back their attacking instincts instead of clearly being ruled by the fear of failure and instead kicking possession away in the hope that the opposition will make an error. Pathetic tactics Jake, you have not evolved at all.
Jordaan is a liability at centre, he is not physical enough for the role, Reads beating of him was too easy. Alberts to is missing far too many tackles as he lacks finesse, its all charge and hope for the best.
Reinach was good and Coetzee once again showed his class, so much for him going to struggle against the Saders. Thomas du Toit had a great game against the Kiwi incumbent.
Lambie showed us his class with that lovely show and go. For the most, the Sharks players had a game to forget.
It was a poor call taking SP off for Sithole. SP up to that drop of the high ball was one of the Sharks best players. The call should have been Sithole for Jordaan at 13.
Also subbing the props for inferior ones with 20 to go in a semi was a poor call
Keep Jake away from the Boks, we need a Kiwi as our Bok coach, someone who is not inhibited with this need to play boring unimaginative rugby.........where contact and the kick prevails
