Jake White (Gallo Images) Ex Sport 24   Johannesburg - Former World Cup winning Springbok and now Brumbies coach Jake White has fired a broadside at South African rugby as he prepares to embark on his South African tour.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald ahead of the Brumbies’ South African tour, White told his charges to expect plenty of mind-games and warned them against letting the hostile reception he anticipates at Loftus Versfeld to disturb their focus. 'Let me warn you it's going to be massive, they're going to go for me I'm going to tell you right now,' White said. 'They're going to try and unsettle the squad by having some sort of dig at me, whether it's that I've deserted them … I don't really know what they'll try and do.”

'But they'll use whatever they can, not only to bring more people to the stadium but also to promote the game and to harp up the whole thing,' he said.

White also told his inexperienced team to prepare themselves for a baptism of fire in SA and to prepare themselves mentally for the pressure.

'The reality is they're going to a rugby nation now who love their rugby, and will do everything they can to make sure they put the opposition under fire.”

'Nothing untoward, nothing illegal, they just love their rugby Oh that one coul dsay the same of the nz oaks), they want to win and will put pressure wherever they can. It's something we have to handle, and that's the uniqueness of going back to South Africa, as a South African coach, with a team that doesn't understand it.'

White eagerly distanced himself from his nationality and was keen to emphasise his loyalty to Australian rugby.

'I'm going back to where I was born and where I coached, but my home now is Canberra...I don't want them to think, as in the players, that I'm going home. My home is now here.   Jake you maybe pleasantly surprised with the esteem you are generally held in. I cant of course vouch for those oaks at Loftus!!! Don' t be too shocked at the shocking pink you find there!!!

saffex and lunatic would you please desist from this ourageous attack on Jake.  Jake pulled our rugby out of the doldrums.  This after all your bleats about matfield too! Bwahahahahahaha

There will be a fringe crowd that could well give him stick. The majority are like me and recognise him as a good coach. It was not his fault he left here. Won the Wc and got fired to be replaced by ou pdv!!

So desist please ya two lunatics! Lift stuck at the basement for sure.

Beeno I take it you had your eyes closed when I delivered to this very site, Jakes wonderful test stats....if a winning percentage of 25% against France, 33% against NZ, 50% against Ireland and 55% against Oz is great in your eyes, then alas there is no hope for you. The guy was an average coach with a huge ego and  who's status was elevated by a WC win thanks to the input of Eddie Jones, a great squad of players and an easier ride to the final

 LOL.....and then the fight started.

In the Blue corner we have a delusional / psychoneurotic fan and in the red corner we have a dejected fan carrying a box of statistics.

Kitch Christie was a great coach!  Roelfie Strauli was a @#$ coach Jake was just at the right place at the right time with the right support and the right players - even old Vic!

Sorry Dave, Jake is with the Brumbies alive and well in case you are not up to speed on the topic.

Also you need to concede Jake left Bk rugby better than he found it.  Stats do not give you all the answers

Enough insults aimed at Jake. Save them all for wee matfield!!!!!!!!!!!

Beeno, press that lift button boet, but press it hard.

Um, my point was that Jake is history to Bok rugby thank goodness. I dont give a toss what he does with the Brumbies as long as he stays away from Bok rugby.

You can try hide his stats, but fact is they tell the true story. There is no running from a 25% win record against France and a 33% win record against NZ - pretty pathetic if you ask me, hardly the mark of a great coach now is it? Unless of course you have very low standards. Jake was an average coach who should have been sacked pre the WC - the guy was never good enough to come up with a plan B.......Eddie Jones provided that plan at the WC - saved his bacon.

Dave you need to ponder deeply why the Brumbies got jake t ocoach thei rteam. Wha twa stheir ass4essment of him based on. Well clearl yit wa his coaching at internatioanl level.

Now dave you do know the aussies are pretty shrewed ( often of course in a crimianl sense unfortunately) and not fo rnotjing do we hav ethe term aussie smarts.

Now Dave can  I trust you to connect the dots?

By the way I also hope you note I said Jake was a good coach not a great one.  Great coaches are few and far between. We haven't had one coaching the Boks since perhaps Kitchie.

If Jake goes on to pull the Brumbies right I may have to further up my assessment of him. Cetainly they are looking a great deal better after a very short tiem with jake at the helm.

Beeno patiently setting daveou right.
