to amaze with fearless, determined and enterprising rugga. Who are these players? ...apart from Stephen Moore I've never previously heard of them but it's obvious they've been well coached. They refuse to be intimidated by big-name opposition teams or by playing on foreign soil and they display a maturity and self belief beyond their years. There's a lot of great things happening at the Brumbies but methinks the best is yet to come and while I still don't believe they'll win the competition this year I believe they'll give it a damn good rattle. Hats off to the battlers....and to you as well coach White, you're truly doing a fine job.
Jake's footsoldiers continue...
Yes Indeed no sane person can question what you say. An oustanding achievement this year by Jake's brumbies. They have certainly picked themselves off the canvass.
Ah the brilliant Jake smashing it at 63%, wow lets hope its still hanging in at 50% by the time the comp ends. If Jake has a bunch of nobodies playing for him, we can say the same for most the sides, hell look at the teamsheet of their opponents today.
Most of the sides are dominated by new names. The Stormers have Jean, Habana and Bekker, the Bulls have Morne and Spies, the Sharks have JP, Beast, Bismark and Jannie
I have always rated Jake as the best South African coach since readmission. His brilliant results with the Brumbies, a team with no core of international players, simply underlines that. He is the coach of the tournament......slathering egg over the faces of his Watsonista detractors.
The fact is if Jake had been retained after 2007 the likelyhood of us retaining our WC would have been vastly improved.
@Mozart
This Uncle Kitch fan resents your insinuation that Anyone is a better coach that Mr Coach.
Yeah Jake was so good he had a 33% win ratio against NZ, 25% against France, 50% against Oz and Ireland.......pretty damn ordinary in my books. Mallett and Kitch were far far superior and their better records vindicate this
Context sapster context. Kitch was unquestionalbly a very good coach. Mallet inherited a very good Carel Du Plessis Bok side side that whipped Oz by some 60 points in Carel's final test match as Bok coach. The finest exhibition of running rugby I ever saw from a Bok side against quality opposition. Carel should never have been kicked out.
Mallet then took this same side and had a great run. Mallet today with all his experience is unquestionably one of the best around.
Jake started from a low base and built up a good Bok side. Now with the Brumbies he is showing his mettle one has to say. Had Jake stayed on as coach his record would have improved in my view. Man he had a good side and there was more rich talent coming through. How could it not have improved - we had the material to rule world rugby but shot ourselves in the foot.
Oh what rubbish, Mallett inherited nothing more or less than Jake did and the Boks under Carel were so poor hence he got sacked. One big win amongst many losses does not make a good side - I thought you were a CA, surely these basic mathematical elements would be a prerequisite car attendant?
Firstly you thought I wasn't a CA.
Secondly Carels team outscoursed the Lios something like 9 tries to 2 in loosing the series 2-1. His place kicker missed kicks in front of posts. The team thrashed the lions in the final test and then kept on improving. Tadgedy the signs were misread.
Mallet took over a very good side built by Carel. However as i say Mallet is a fine coach.
Get some context sapster ingnorance is not bliss! Jake is proving what a fine coach he is and only a biased twit would not give him some credit.
