I imagine Coetzee was signed for his knowledge of the Irish provinces cos to be honest they'll be the biggest challenges the SA teams will face.
Vermeulen, Coetzee and even Arno aren't spring chickens anymore so there will probably be a lot of rotation in the back row injuries or not.

Marcel Coetzee is one of the best 8’s in the game at the moment so can see the attraction of having him on board but the Bulls now have over kill in the loosie department
Investment elsewhere would have made more sense

Jake is doing what Meyer did at Stade Francaise - the latter was given a limitless budget to hire players and spent all the money on forwards and forgot the need to get more backline players as well, After all Meyer got Morne back from Brive as his top backline signing and Jake got Mirne from France on contract,
When will Jake ever learn that a rugby team consists of 15 players and not only 10?
Agree with Dave though - Coetzee is a top class player since Vermeulen is likely to retire after the Lions tour.
