Cape Town - Brumbies coach and former Springbok boss, Jake White, has turned down the Ireland Rugby Football Union's (IRFU) request for an interview regarding the vacant Ireland head coach position.

White told Australian reporters that he remains committed to the Brumbies and is thus unavailable for the Ireland job.

"I'm happy here, I'm coaching boys in Australia and I'm enjoying that," White said.

"I'm really not in the market for every coaching job that pops up, I'm focusing on the Brumbies and making them better and in turn making Australian rugby better which is one of my briefs as a Super Rugby coach in Australia."

With White out the picture, Reds mentor Ewen McKenzie, New Zealander Joe Schmidt and Australian Les Kiss are seen as the main contenders to take over from sacked coach Declan Kidney.

White and McKenzie will do battle in a top-of-the-table Super Rugby clash at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Saturday. Kick-off is at 11:40 SA time.

McKenzie has already announced that he will be leaving the Reds at the end of the 2013 season. If he fails to land the Ireland role, he's widely expected to succeed Robbie Deans as head coach of the Wallabies.

So you see snapster even Ireland want Jake who you say is bog ordinary or was it piss poor? Hahahahahhahaha . One thing you can bank on is that ou pdv will nevr be offered these type of positions.  Now poor Meyer has to pick up the pieces and keep at bay doomsayers like ou snapster/maaaikie and the like!

The Irish are a spent force in Rugby. Odriscoll their greatest player is on his last legs and about to retire.

Many of their other top players are also long in the tooth and the new players coming through are not of the same calibre.

They had some good years especially in the first half of last decade when they went up to number3 in the World Rankings.

Hopefully some new talent comes through, but without their talisman o'Driscoll who was surely one of the best players in the professional era of World rugby it is not looking great for the immediate term.

It would be hilarious if McKenzie got the Ireland Job and Jake the Wallabies one.LAdy MO(NH) would I suspect prefer Jake to coach the Irish. Imagine then if the Wallabies starting beating the Boks ad nauseum. Actually not a funny propspect  at all but it would perhaps - a very long shot here - cause some oaks to wonder at our daft policies!!!

Sharkbok the Irish are at a low point but will be back again. Have great fighting spirit. Lets hope they dont drug up like the welsh?

Ha ha! yes Beeno would be nice for me if he took the Irish position only a 45 min flight away. Who knows who will be where in the future just have to wait and see.
