I have learnt one thing about posting on the Board and that is you never really have to pay serious attention to some of the comments posted by some of the posters - especially two of them - namely beeno and saffex. Although they have some things in which they have opposing inputs - in most respects they differ. I had the privilege of meeting Saffex - a really nice guy.
The difference between the two is their inputs. Saffex is an enthusiastic supporter of renewl of players and replacement of players who have failed the Springboks in the past - while beeno is real comic opera in his inputs. I have synpathy with saffex and support most of his renewal calls - with the exception of him wanting to play some of the poorer players - who have failed on lower levels and he wants to support for Springbok selection - a typical example is Jantjies.
However, they have one common trait and that is a dislike of Jake White - the reason for that I have never been able to determine. Maybe White refused to bow to some of their suggestions - but that is conjecture. Despite the fact that White have a winning record of 67% in the case of tests played by the Springboks whilst he was the coach (a record not equalled by any other person coaching the Springboks since 1995 - when professionalism was introduced) ) and he was the IRB coach of the year on two occassions during the period 2004-2007- tje twp mntioned posters dislike White with a vengeance.
They forgot in the process that he had to start afresh to build up a new team that was competitive after inheriting a disaster from his predecessor. That also is a fact of life.
They both admire another Springbok coach - who inherited a remarkably good team and managed to break it down in three years - Mallett - so put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Maybe each unto his own - I prefer the postings of saffex - but those of beeno is a real joke in view of the fact that he is the local SARU propagandist on this Board. He makes it out that he is the resident optimist on anything SARU dishes up and we have to swallow that,
By the way I am beginning to identify a difference of opinion between the two on the issue of Meyer - so we are back to th standard situation of major differences between the two.
