After the best overseas tour by any team in the SuperXV in 2014 with 3 out of 4 wins, and just one close loss- the Sharks were looking the tournament favourites.

A home semi and final were on the cards, and the Sharks had look unbeatable in the early stages of the tournament at home.

Fast forward to the most recent home game vs the Stormers after the tour, and then the June Internationals, and the Cheetas game- the wheels have really started to fall of for the Sharks.

The dominant Sharks pack is now getting bullied by the likes of the Cheetas and Stormers.

Bismaark is hardly making an impression and others like Alberts and Cotzee are playing average at best.

In the early rounds when the Sharks had all home games, they were hammering teams like the Waratahs and the Canes with ease.

It is better to start with the Bok players and when a win becomes certain, clear the bench and rest the Boks.

If their are games when Boks are not going to start, surely it should be home games and not the away games.

Let the Springbok players rest more in the early stages of the tournament, and then start to peak at the business end like the Crusaders have done for many years with their All Blacks.

The Crusaders are usually/allways the team with the most All Blacks, and they start the tournament slowly but get stronger as the season goes on. Their test level players also seem to peak towards the business end of the tournament.

The international players in other SA teams have risen their form for the test window, while the jaded Shark Boks have just been run into the ground.

Jake White is going to have to rethink his strategy for next year.

If it was a shorter tournament, the Sharks might have allready won it.

Although it is the same for all teams so White is going to have to think how he can rotate his squad more to peak for the business end of the tournament, and not the middle.

There are really two weak links in the Sharks team - that showed up badly during the whole series and seems to get no better - namely Alberts and Francois Steyn.   Alberts is doing less and less every game and Steyn  has produced nothing at all at center and in most games played for 10 minutes and then faded out.
The fading out could perhaps be attributed to his knee problem - but for a 12 never to score a single try during the whole of Super 15 is really unheard of.
I see the Sharks are trying to get Labuschagne to play for them - they are no doubt realizing that Alberts is failing in his primary job as a loosie.   They made one othr mistake - they should have gone for Philip van der Walt as well - they need a top no 8 as well.
There forwards is likely to be better next year with Pieter-Steph du Toit back and with   the addition of a proper no 7 loosie.   I think they must really rethink the role of Steyn in the team as well.   He really does not meet any requirements - be it either on defense or attack.
What is clear is that White will have to rotate players and make sure he has the players to rotate.  He in fact has them - but he needs to do so with a roster.   For instance he has to rest one of the frontline props say every three or four weeks (put him on the bench and limit usage) and the other prop in a succeeding match doing the same.
The players looked "pap" on Saturday - as well as the last game before the June test window and that should bot happen again.
Just as an afterthought - De Jager was rested as a result of an injury - he came back and ever since he was red hot in performance.   So a rest during the season seems to be the way to go.

Well let's wait and see what a non fiction look turns up. One thing is for sure we can't rely on the Oom.
