Jantjies dropped for van Aswegen?????

Supposedly this has to do with wanting left and right footed kickers....Aplon being the left, now he is at 15. But that sounds very fishy. It's seems more probable that Coetzee thought Jantjies wouldn't front up against the Bools. After a run at flyhalf, this suggests Jantjies is still in limbo in the Cape. Or could it just be that his contract negotiations aren't gong well?

Mozart To my mind Jantjies played a nightmare game against the Kings - he really was back to his normal poor game - even though his kicking at goal was accurate this time around. You might be right about his contract though. Jantjies was lured to the Stormers with a massive pay-out - reportedly R2,5 million was mentioned. Bearing in mind his performances for the Stormers, I think the Board is not likely to stand for that type of amount again and he would be lucky to get a R1 million a year contract from them. That could be the case and Jantjies would probably try his luck elsewhere - though apart from the Lions I cannot really see any franchise making him a better offer - and his chances of getting a foreign contract is zero-minus.

Oh NO, No, No,  my Daddy Saffex will be devastated!  Looking at his comments on that other thread he is bound to call Coetzee a Racist, but Coetzee, Janmtjies and me are all of the tanned veraity... Hahahahaha

Personally, I believe WP and the Stormers would be better off developing their own youngsters instead of spending so much resources on outsiders. Last year there were signs of a certain distrust of the internal structure when Jebb Sinclair was brought over, leapfrogging Nick Fenton-Wells, Tyrone Holmes, etc. The omission of Quinn Roux also ruffled some feathers. And this year, the sudden inclusion of Daniel Coetzer ahead of other WP prospects like Wilhelm van der Sluys, Taz Fuzani, among others. Allister Coetzee's rotation policy (or lack thereof) has made the team paid a very high price in the last two seasons. I do understand that it is important to maintain certain fluidity when it comes to team selections, however, given the Stormers' Rugby DNA, a rotation policy would have helped some key players recover and rest, instead of being played to the ground. For 2014, I'd love to see AC & co embrace the aforementioned policy. Give the youngsters (some of which will have played Curie Cup games) some gametime and the opportunity to experience SupeRugby. If I were him, I'd focus heavily on building depth on the forwards -- as they are the foundation on which the Stormers build their dominance.
