Jantjies stays....otherwise Boks largely as expected

 Not a problemless team -   The loosies - other than Du Toit playing out of his natural position is definitely sub -standard and so are the wings.
The wheels can come off badly on Saturday.
Have we seen the last of Dreyer? 

This stuff is so cynical. Allende comes back.......Jantjies ticks a box, so he stays. Wilco doesn’t get his chance bevause back comes Coenie. Mostert has been quietly side lined and Lomp is now our incumbent 5. .. There is even more politics on the bench....Bongi, Cassiem and the utterly useless Francois Venter, no doubt a gift for Smith. .. So predictable, so tawdry.

 Wilco should have started, with Coenie on the bench.

 Pity its not the best team but it s hould be good enough to beat Ireland?

The starting team is OK given the available squad. 
The big question is going to be the breakdown. The Irish are very good at the breakdown- and can prevent teams building momentum. They also have a quality half-back combination that can play percentage rugby well- and have excellent kicking games. 
Our prop resources are looking good with 4 quality players.
Both Kolisi and Louw better up their game at the breakdown, but at least we have Coenie back who is good at the breakdown- along with Marx.
If Marx can replicate how he played against the All Blacks in SA, he could be a contender for world player of the year.
Francious Venter is a Curry Cup flat track bully with more experience than the younger players. 

The bench, has some poor selections. 

 "Wilco should have started, with Coenie on the bench."  Agreed, but I guess they feel Coenie could be more useful in the loose, which in a way is also an admission that PSDT and Kolisi may loose the battle for the ball on the ground.

 Blik, if you take the CC final as example. WP totally destroyed the Sharks scrum. Do that for 30mins and the opposition forwards are so tired, the gaps start to open up.Ireland has got a decent scrum, so I suppose it won't necessarily work out like that, even with W ilco starting.

The front row battle should be interesting......I’m still not convinced that Coenie is a tighthead.

 Moz, I think Coenie is a tighthead in the John Smit mould. Hopeless on his own merits, but can do the job with serious assistance from his flank and his lock. Coenie's ball retrieval in the loose probably clinced the position for him ... remember the days when he and Brussow were in personal competition each match to see who can win the most turnovers.

 Rugby rule no.1: Pick a tighthead who can dominate...not Coenie, not Malherbe and NOT Dreyer!
