Japan Training squad for WC

Wimpie van der Walt, who already has 9 Test caps for Japan, is included once more but the big news is that the former Bulls duo of Lappies Labuschagne and Grant Hattingh are the uncapped South Africans in the squad. 

I am particularly worried about Labuschagne - he is a better loosie than both Kolisi and Vermeulen is concerned and he is a hard nut to have in a team.   His non-selection was probably one of the worst of many balls-ups Meyer made in team selection.

Wimpie was a power player, a bit like Duane Vermeulen - without the all-around skills.

Lapdogpies is probably too small for international level- unless he plays as a fetcher- where he should have specialized. 

Vermeulen will have had a good rest, so he should be ready. Hopefully, he is not overplayed for the Bulls.

Labuschagne is not all that small - 6'3" and 108 kg is as big as most international flanks are.
