Former Springbok centre Jaque Fourie is reportedly eager to return to the playing field.

The 34-year-old announced his retirement from professional rugby last year, but could make a return to play for Australian franchise, the Western Force.

According to Netwerk24, Fourie received an offer to play for the Force in the new Indo Pacific Rugby Championship bankrolled by tycoon Andrew Forrest.

Fourie, who played 72 Tests for the Springboks between 2003 and 2013, is reportedly waiting on the finalised paperwork before his participation in the competition is confirmed.

Meanwhile, another former Springbok - loose forward Ryan Kankowski - is also set to join the Force in the competition.

Forrest has revealed that over 250 elite players across the world have been contacted to participate in the rebel tournament.


The Force are exploring opportunities after losing their Super Rugby status last year, with the Indo Pacific Rugby Championship likely to kick off in March next year.

Wonder whether he is still as fat as he was when Meyer sent him packing in 2015?   The g uy must be in urgent need of some money so I hope this decision does not end up in an injury to him/

Some people never know when to retire so they messed up their reputation as a  result.   ,

Yep there are lots of rationalizations. But the plain fact is we have dropped to 5th with all your great ‘talent’. We were a much stronger team with the declining old boys, who knew each other....complemented the game plan.....and had some guts. Like Christiano Ronaldo who is 33, probably not as explosive as he was 5 years ago, but still the best pure goal scorer in the game. The theory of selecting the best newbies lies in tatters.

Sorry - but you are trying to mislead members again by a lie about "your players".   Who are the "your players" you are referring to?

January 2012 when HM started we were ranked 4th.....November 2015 when he ended we were ranked 3rd. November 2012, November 2013 and November 2014 we were ranked second under HM. Since HM the best ranking was 3rd which was also the final ranking under HM. November 2016 we were ranked 6 and 2017 we were ranked 5th. Case. Closed.

Shame ... I guess you're just slow on the uptake. Things are getting worse since turning 71, huh?

It's been explained to you several times over ... sometimes really slowly ... to help you grasp ... that the newbies selected were second rate and not a reflection of our talent at all.

Oh they selected the wrong newbies. Funny that, everybody was so enthusiastiac when we were beating up the vacationing Frogs. As for living in the past, as far as the Boks are concerned it’s a lot more fun than living in the present. Stay down.
