I won't call it any kind of "scope" for fear of ou Maaik spectacularly butchering the word into something concerning the female genitals again.

Planetrugby comment:

8 Jasper Wiese: Continues to be a real threat at the breakdown and was the go-to ball carrier for the Springboks, and understandably so as he was like a cement truck with faulty brakes each time. Equally effective in defence. 8

Accurate? Well, he wasn't exactly a cement truck without brakes, and apart from one good early turnover penalty he wasn't much of a factor at the breakdown - Marx competed more often. Lots of carries, mostly down at the first tackle although he did beat 3 or 4 tackles towards the end of the second half. Disappointing to see the weed Ntamack take him down solo from the front when he had a full head of steam at 57:04. So, no real barnstorming runs but he did carry securely. Most of his tackles were around the fringes, those kind of "stop the burrower" thingies, with one or two a little further out. He had a few good ruck moments. Solid performance but not dominant.

Would it be fair to say, not dominant but much busier than du Toit?

He plays tighter and closer to the ball while Steph gets more involved wider. Probably busier, it's hard to flat out agree with the PR assessment of Steph being the hardest working Springbok - I'd even think Marx would want to have something to say about that while Nortje is also worth a look, he popped up all over the place when he came on and even had the commentators mentioning his defensive work at one point.
