Is Jayden in terrible form or was he just never that good to begin with?

He's not had a bad game or two, he's had a totally forgettable season.

The amount of errors, poor passes, lazy/slow clearances...it's off the charts.

Last night we saw what happens when he doesn't get subbed off in the second half.

For most of the season the Sharks have suffered under his distribution into the second half and the moment a different 9 comes on the Sharks look like a new/different team.

For those that have been watching, am I wrong about the above?

I just have so many memories of Williams coming in with 30 minutes to go and the Sharks seem to then instantly rumble forwards and actually play like a team with more Boks than non Boks. And if you can recall the Bok matches from last year, it was similar...Williams comes on and suddenly his rapid time to rucks and his fast distribution just completely change how the Boks looked.

Last night we had an all Bok front row, with Eben. The backs were almost entirely Boks. AE, Jayden, Fassi, Mapimpi...

And yet they struggled to put the Scarlets away.

So half the Sharks team are double WC winners, against literal nobodies from Scarlets, and yet the first half ends 3-0...with only a few more penalties to be added in the second half...IN DURBAN!!!

That's absolutely crazy. Yes, everybody made mistakes and the Sharks seem to be living on Bok laurels, but Jayden is just consistently the worst performer in that side.

For me, Jayden is in absolutely shocking form. Off the top of my head I can think about 10 errors he made. And it's been the same story all season.

When he first came on the scene, I feel like I may have mistaken his slowness for calmness, but I'm starting to realise that he's actually just slow. Faf is slow too, but he makes up for it in so many other ways.

Somebody tell me I'm crazy! But I really am starting to think that I don't wanna see Jayden wear the jersey this year.

He's one problem, but the bigger issue is that the Sharks play the dumbest rugby in the competition. That passage of 21 phases of static charges for a few meters gain epitomizes their play. Blunt force and errors. The players don't seem to connect either, there's no cohesion or sense of team play like you see at the Bulls, where the forwards operate like they're under a blanket - there's always someone to clean out, to protect, always someone on your shoulder to support.

I'm not making excuses for them.

Just that I tend to look at the Sharks as two sides. One where Jayden is the 9 and one where literally anybody else is the 9.

Anyway, heavens only knows how Plumtree can get them to look as bad as they do. You take out just a few key players and they'll be exponentially worse. His big names are carrying him at this point.

No wonder Eben has back issues

Firstly the sharks should be doing much much better with there Bok laden team….and Jaden,s form has dropped considerably.

In the beginning he was more composed and more in control.

He has lost that somehow, but it doesn’t mean he is not a talented player.

His Brother in my opinion has also lost his best form, since leaving the lions.

The pace and urgency someone like Williams injects will help. Even bashing will be more effective if you get quick ball and the defense has less time to set themselves and recover.

Jaden always looks like a stoner to me or Gatiep from the Cape Flats. I have never seen him actually play a good game. Yes, he had the odd no look pass or nice little grubber, but I don't see him controll from the base nor do I see him anything other than a turd blocking the toilet.

There are so much better 9 around than him. Sanele come to mind.

Anyway, it's a sharks thing, they simply can't look after talent. Then those are all quota boks except for Fassie and Ox.

Not the same team from yester year.

Te problem goes much wider than it seems to be at scrumhalf 0 but ider out it is worse - especially as Mazuku at flyhal and St Esterhuizen at 12, That calls for a dead backline from an attacking perspective because fom an attacking point f vie both are dumbos, Hendriks' replacement would add a 5% improvement - but Fasi added a lot of value to the Sharks backline ttack seems to be hopelessly ot of form as well.

But at most the Sherks should get a better flyhalf and they must move Dumbo to loose forwward - he is a very poor center - despite all the hero-worshipping on site, He is just crashballing - but he difference is the ball comes bacjk slowly and by then the oposition has reorganized thir defense, The problem is crashballing is important but the ball coming quickly back to continue their attack is missing in the case and by the the balll came back the oppositin has re-organized their defense and oppounities are lost.

In essense the Sharks is playing 11 man rugy as ineffective as possible like happened under Meyer and Coetzee,

I blame h ahlf backs and St Esterhuizen for that problem. Whn ever he backline get th ball - the problemsarts with Hendriks aand Mauku - if they do not bugger up in the game St Esterhuizen will take over and does the dirty on the Sharks,

Move Hooker to center and there may be a 100% advance in playin g of attackin g rigb bu the Sharks, Th problem is that the enxt opponent in the torunament will be Munster and that will lead to a disaster for the Sharks witj tje resent player in perfomance is there are no changes made,

For me his strength is rugby intelligence. When he is in form and playing well, he makes good decisions

He is not a threat individually, nothing special about him with ball in hand - at best solid. He creates or directs for those around him and has a calculated boot on him.

But of late he has just been poor all round - indecisive at the base, not asserting himself there and conceding in the process

He was slightly better than usual this past weekend. But on current form does not deserve to be in the alignment camp

Another player I don’t get how he has achieved recognition and a call up is Renzo du Plessis - I’m yet to see anything special from him
