I read a report that JJ Engelbrecht is battling a leg injury and in doubt for this weekend?

Not great reading. If he can not train by today, they should make the call to cut him. We need the best preparation we can get this week. No disruptions. We need to play a completely different game plan and we have 1 week to work on that so we cant afford guys sitting out of training runs.

Franco VD Merwe been called in for Flip. You dont reckon he will feature though? The same report reckons Juandre is the likely starter but I wonder if they will include Steph-Du Toit on the bench of the experience of Franco?? I really hope its Steph-Du Toit. Infact, I hope SDT is starting!

If JJ can't play - it worries me very much - because De Jongh will come into the picture. He is way below par and not international material at all,  How Meyer picked him for the squad is at best amazing.  He will go AWOL like he did in the Twickenham test.

I would rather have seen De Allende called up as a back -up and put him on the bench ahead of De Jongh.

As to Franco van der Merwe - he has no grunt at all - less than Kruger.  My initial reaction is that they should start with Du Toit and put Kruger on the bench.   Bad news that one - worse news Franco.

JJ injured that leg against the Argies, played with it against Oz........this might be a game too far for him. Serfontein will play out of position at 13 and no doubt de Jongh will be on the bench sadly.

The selection of Franco v/d Merwe into the squad is a joke. Its so pathetic when the selection is justified with the fact that the player knows the structures and system.................what a load of crap. Lood de Jager should have been rewarded for the outstanding season he has had this year.

Lets face it, Franco is not going to be involved in the match 23, so select Lood so he can familiarise himself with those structures
