Stormers fullback Joe Pietersen has agreed to leave Western Province and the Stormers and move to Biarritz in the Top14. Twenty-nine-year-old Pietersen played in the Top 14 for Bayonne two years ago but returned to South Africa in 2011 amid rumours that his wife was not happy in France. Between 2010 and 2011 Pietersen made 29 appearances for Bayonne and scored 45 points. The Stormers fullback has scored 154 of the Stormers 264 points in 2013 after he took over the kicking duties from Elton Jantjies. In 2011 Pietersen signed a two year contract with Western Province and instead renewing his contract he will join Biarritz with a different wife The full details of Pietersen's move have not yet been released but as he signed his two year Western Province deal in November 2011 it is expected that he will leave for France after the Currie Cup season.
