Johan Goosen- Injured again

That is strange as he was limping  

 Goosen will never be a full-time Bok flyhalf. Time to move on.

According to " Clever" I must have imagined that injury. You can't build a game plan around a player in such a pivotal position ....when you can have little confidence that he will see out the game.

 Pity ,I quite like this young fellahs play .Never good to see talented [ or any ] players injured so often .Will this affect any future selection RE: his seeming brittleness ?

Well,every time he goes down, he leaves the field. How does that help us. What is the use of having him when you are not sure whether he is going to last more than five minutes? Sadly, despite all his talent, he is currently a waste of space in the Bok set-up.

I think that him leaving the field on Saturday was precautionary and proven to be no serious injury at all.   He is and remains a better flyhalf than the piss poor defense -deficient Morne in any event.

That has happened on Saturday and who says it will not happen again? You allow yourself to base an evaluation of a player's entire career on one match, so why can't I do the same?

Rugby is a game of passions and hubris. Whether he stays on or comes off this constant injury thing .... every game he seems to be down and being treated.....has to impact the psyche of the team. 

Goosen is fine, he is available to play on Sat

 What is worse for the tam is to have a clueless and defense deficient flyhalf like Morne Steyn.   
Time to look at his stats for the last four tests he played in:-

*   His one kick contributed to a try scored.
*   His goal kicking record remains around 80% accuracy.
*   He was obviously told by Meyer to pass balls and not kick it away aimlessly - but most of his kicks remain in the aimless category
*   He never attacks the gain line and his ball carrying capacity was poor.
*  He lost possession of the ball 5 times in four games
*  His missed tackle ratio was 30,8% - really the poorest defense imaginable.
Talking about "passions and hubris"  - Morne has NONE of that.   Ask Stade Francais about that one!!!!!!!
  

 They play the kid when under 19 at senior level and wonder that he gets injured. Are you being serious.he is now only just out of under 20 ranks!
Far too early to write off Goosen!!!  This is amazing!
Bet the abs won't be so quick to write off the older Cruden
Pollard however looks the main man for the future. Pollard, Lambie, Goosen and Marnitz.

Let me give you some tackle stats of another player in the last five tests that a certain player played in. He made eight and missed seven, for a missed tackle ratio of 46.7%. Guess who the player is.

if u werent worrying about his injury prone abilities nearly every second of every game and training session, then goosen would be a shoe in nor problem.

but considering how well some of the other flyhalves in SA have been rolling, IMO it wouldnt be dumb to start investing time elsewhere.
martinz boshoff, dewald potgieter are two names who would be worthy of a crack for the Boks.

pollard who is on baby Bok duties is also looking the goods and one to consider.

but once lambie is back in the swing of things, he will be the Boks go to guy, or at least the back to morne whose Bok career is powered by meyers bulls fetish.

 Goose?  His goose is cooked - as jy my vra.  Never thought this guy had any tactical out-of hand ability when his team was under pressure.

 Sushi I can tell you spent the night on the John again....those uncooked older shrimps will get you every time.

 He is to fragile for test rugby and thus is unreliable to the squad.

I find it interesting that Morne Steyn continues to be run down by some on this site when just about every journalist reporting on the game made mention of the good game he had.

 Morne had a pretty decent game and his tactical kicking and goal kicking were superb. Even won a turnover.Welcome back to the baord mance.

Goosen is brittle, Lambie was nothing special prior to his injury. Or will there now be a call for Pollard.......who is looking good at U20 level, but was also pretty average the games he played in the Super 15. 

100 % agree Mance. We are fortunate to have Morne. Had a great game on Saturday with some good passes, surprisingly physical defense and excellent tactical kicking. People say he has no X-factor but that's ignoring his place kicking which is top class and puts so much pressure on the opposition not only by keeping the score board ticking over but tempering the defensive aggression for fear of giving away kickable penalties.

I suppose when a man does well playing against children ... hasn't been put under pressure at all ... has all the time in the world to do as he pleases ... where there's no need for snappy decisions ... he'll be praised to death and made out to be the next messiah of South African rugby.

Funny how his play changes altogether when trying to ply his trade against stiffer opposition. Then he looks decidedly ordinary ... rather rushed ... even panicked at times.

His accuracy at posts goes for a ball of chalk ... even those kicks out of hand aren't coming off as they did against the children.

Yeah ... let's keep him ... why bother to blood another? He's our man!!! Especially taking into consideration that it's imperative we beat the hapless children again this weekend.
