Mitchell, who is the Pretoria-based union’s director of rugby, takes over the coaching reins after the side suffered a 41-40 loss to the Cheetahs in Pretoria on Saturday.

Barend van Graan, CEO of the Blue Bulls Company (Pty) Ltd, explained that this action is merely the next step in the turnaround strategy. This follows the continued unfolding of a turnaround strategy that the Blue Bulls announced earlier this year.

“We are working hard to ensure the sustainable and long-term success of the Bulls and Blue Bulls, as we continue striving towards achieving success and restoring trust and faith in our brand,” he said.

The rest of Mitchell’s coaching staff will consist of:

Hayden Groepes (Skills and Kicking), Pote Human (Lineouts), Gary Botha (Scrums), Pine Pienaar (Defence – All teams, junior and senior), Jaco Coetzee (Strength and Conditioning), Ghafoer Luckan (Strength and Conditioning assistant).

Van Graan also added: “I believe this step furthermore grants us the opportunity to cross pollinate within our structures, ensuring what coaches have learnt whilst being involved at senior rugby levels is transferred throughout the entire system and structure, thus benefiting at all levels.

“We urge our supporters and fans to rally behind the team by coming out and showing their support.”

Marais was a donkey- and probably the first of a few or many replacements. Mitchell needs to teach an SA coach with more raw potential.

The first person to clash with Mitchell was Marais, but it certainly will not be the last, while the Mitchell empire is built.

About time I say

I only see things improving from here for the Bulls

We may not see it this season, but I have no doubt at all, that Mitchell will make a significant contribution to the Bulls success over the next few years.

The less you say on rugby matters the better, Dumb Ass. Thought I made myself very clear on that ... WTF ??

Now edit the above nonsense to something more personal.

Surely not??

Why would you want to force your ignorance on us all?

You can speak to your heart's content about quotas and merit selections ... and then duck and dive all you like without being exposed as an ignorant low life.

What more do you want??

Why be a fool up here when you can rule down there?

Come now ... think about it.

It's the right thing to do ... and you know it.

Owen Meany will be in for happy days. I really expect the Bulle to go places under Mitchell. One wonders how the Lions will fare with the loss of Ackermann and certain players.

Have we finally seen the last of the Pretenders or is there still one hanging around in Robbie Fleck?
Collectively I don't know who was more toxic, the "coaches" we suffered or SARU?
It's no rocket science that our rugby was going to implode with that co. cktail doing the rounds.
