The one - incident junky at it again. Have you got Freuan on your brain. One missed tackle using the wrong technique and making 5 other successful tackles on the same player in the same game - and he got monstered. What a load of BS!!!

@mozter,
having frans styen monster everything in his path at 12 is always a nice foundation hell yeah of for any 13 to work of.
when that 13 happens to be a super slick fast roadrunner like jordaan, opposition regardless of class is always going to get hurt.
bulls never had much of go forward anything, the forwards failed to front up, and while the bulls backs didnt have much go forward to work on, the backline did sweet F all to help matters out.
the bulls failure was a complete team effort.
"So why play JJ ahead of Jordaan?
The answer to that question is probably the additional security JJs extra 7 kgs provides."
the reason u play jj ahead of jordaan is because when u look at both players short careers as a whole, jj has done a lot more than jordaan, waaaaaaaaay more.
the extra 7kgs is just a bonus, just like jjs height.
jjj got schooled by jordaan last night and full credit to hordaan, b ut one swallow does not a summer make.

The Bools had no go forward.....have you lost your senses. And using Fransie as an excuse rings very hollow......what if Serfontein/JJ are playing Nonu/ Smith or Roberts or Tuilangi. If they are the Bok centre pairing they have to be able to outplay Fransie/ Jordaan.....and they certainly didn't. The excuses start again.

My Springbok starting combination would be Frans Steyn at inside centre and Jean at outside centre, with Jaque Fourie on the bench.
Would also maybe consider Frans at fullback and push Willie onto the right wing.

Oh what complete and utter rubbish........Jordaan was playing in a dominant Sharks side and was put into space by the great Mvovo line run and a long pass by Frans.......he never had to beat a single player and had nothing to do but run.......there has never been any doubting his pace.......the question mark is against his size......demonstrated by Greyling running through him with ease.
As the commentators kept saying, JJ never got the ball......the first time he did, he beat Frans with ease.
What a load of rubbish......a player gets negatives thrown his was when he was solid in defence and received the ball all of 3 times, beating one defender once and gaining a few metres in the other and setting up the next phase.
Jordaan had a good game in space. Frans was good as were Serfontein and JJ in a game where the centres had little to do

Mike he did not outplay JJ at all.......just because he happened to get the ball in space does not mean he outplayed his opposite number.....catch a bloody wake up.......in space, he never had to beat a single defender......he just had to run at pace, which he did well........much like a wing would........there was nothing impressive about that........but he did it well.......he got opportunities, something JJ never did.
Jordaan's miss tackle was a poor one, it was one on one with Greyling, he went low and Greyling just went through him.
JJ's miss was a bit of a joke.......Mvovo, stops dead and cuts inside, with JJ covering.....Mvovo runs straight into Serfontein I think.
I'd have an issue with JJ if he received good ball and stuffed it up.......he did not, I recall him getting it three times, the first time he beat Frans with a step and took contact well. The other two he took in traffic and took contact and set up the next phase.
Jordaan did not outplay JJ......he just got far better opportunities and that is a fact.
JJ did what he could with the ball he got......its called perspective. Same with Serfontein and Frans who did well in traffic.
The big issue with the Bulls is how poor Fouche was at 10......hell I think even Morne could have done a better job

The system never registered JJ beating Fran's....nor did I. Serfontein missed 3 tackles out of 13, but more to the point he was dominated by Fransie.

Well Moz, go check the video of the game and if JJ did not step inside Frans with ease, the first time he gets the ball......I'll give you £100.
Frans had a good game but he did not dominate Serfontein at all......Serfontein had one nice mini break stepping a few defenders, other than that he had few opportunities with ball in hand.
We saw no breaks from Frans, but we did see him physically impose himself and that cross kick was great. He did bounce Serfontein once, but that is fair enough, Frans is a brute, but to Serfonteins credit he hit him hard and low the next time.
Frans did not dominate Serfontein........both that solid games........the Sharks centres were in the game more and the score reflects that

Frans was good, but he certainly did not dominate Serfontein......not by any stretch. Frans was more physical, Serfontein more creative with ball in hand.

Serfontein was not creative...ball in hand. He stepped inside as he always does....

and beat defenders in the process, something Frans did not do. Frans ran through people.
as I have pointed out......Serfontein beat his man on the outside in his first S15 game off the bench last year......so no, he does not always step inside......much like JJ proved the same against Savea
17 Feb 2014, 05:18#17
Ha ha it happens so infrequently that Dave can remember two isolated incidents. He does have to go all the way back to Serfonteins first game and JJ's easy rounding of Savea.
Dave, tell us about the time Morne Steyn bounced Retallick. Is Morne also a crash ball wizard now??The comedy show continues.

The Bulle forards dominated the sharks pack for much of the game as was noted in the thread I posted re Com fort for the bulle. However the Bulle backline was stuffed up by Hougaard who has no feel as scrummie. Two dangers for the bulle. Continue with Hougaard starting at scrummie and flirt with the con artist matfield a more pap lock cannot be found anywhere.

"However the Bulle backline was stuffed up by Hougaard who has no feel as scrummie."
Negatory. The Bulls backline was stuffed by a very limited gameplan. It seems that Ludeke didn't have any faith in Fouché to run that backline. It was all about the painfully obvious one-up runners. Nobody came onto the ball at pace. The whole thing was a mess, the Bulls had quick service from Hougaard but nothing to put on the end of it. If they drop Hougaard now... they are in for a horror show in the coming weeks!

Very true Saffex, nobody mentions him. Not even that drug addict Keo or his henchmen. At one point Fouché screwed-up three high balls in less than ten seconds; the last going backwards and into touch. But then we hear of Hougaard's poor kicks! Ridiculous. What of that clever snipe to send Greyling on a rampaging run. He was fighting a lone fight, and to make matters worse, the Sharks zeroed in on him. It's all about context.
Saffex, that was one of the most ineffective showings I have ever seen at Super level by a 10, if not the worst! Where did they find this guy? A bargain bin buy?
