Nienaber is a clone of Rassie. They have been close friends since the army. The only reason that Nienaber got the job was because of this.
Rassie is the experienced Springbok which is sure to garner extra respect to current Boks.
Nienaber is useful, but he has never been a head coach before. It is tough for him overseas without Rassie, but that should also help his development.
