Now we know why the Beard. I mean what rugby player wants that hygenic challenge. But there was a logic....without the Beard putting an exclamation mark on everything he does....Strauss is literally gone. I thought for the longest time he had to be injured and not playing.

Nothing

Funny that, I thought he had a really good game......plenty of go forward, some good driving tackles and a strong try......he was a good as ever. Would love to see him, Jantjies and Taute in the company of a class side

I'll concur with what Skinstad and the boys in the Sky studio say about him - Fitz and Michael L love this guy and want to see him in the company of a good side. Am with them, he is a great player and easily the best leader in SA

And you can see his great leadership in the results? The popular leader, is often not the best leader.

Come now Moz, no leader would turn the Lions side into winners and you know that. We cant expect these players to compete with the big boys

Moz...

SOunds like you are more intrested in arguing with Safesex than you are with making valid points.

J Strauss provides many more options that the incumbent number 8 for the Boks does.

Strauss, at 2m tall is quick enough, strong enough and has a fantastic workrate for the full 80!

He has the skill attributes which a good number 8 requires.

He may not be flashy, but neither were many of the great Boks that have come and gone in the past 20 years.

I say, the best way to shut people like you up is to give him a run!

Let him show us who is right and who is wrong.

Lets put him in a half decent side....

I bet my entire salary that he would consistently get a 7 - 8 out of ten after each game!

Unlike Spies who puts in a 7 out of ten every 20 games!!

Give him a chance (10 tests is a good barometer) and lets comment after that!

I bet you he will have an incredible impact on the side!

HE also commands respect from his opposition!

...and as a captain, don;t you think he looks great sipping on the sponsors energy drink during the post match interview? He makes it look so natural!

Only Keagan Daniel comes close to him in that department!

Well all those in the know rate this guy, and he is easily our best leader. He plays it in a manner that is almost impossible for him to have an average game. He is just constantly on the go and in your face - much like Schalk, they are very similar players

Safesex...

Do all "those in the know" also rate JJ?

..sorry couldn't resist!

...There is one player i disagree on.

Decent on the wing, average at 13.

Chippo you clearly know stuff all or certainly have not seen his last 2 games, for if you had you would not be stupid enough to conclude what you just have

Moz if Schalk made it as a test player, Josh can. Schalk does not have a better skill set and Josh plays it as hard as Schalk does, Josh is even bigger
