It's not loyalty Cloudy. Julian was solid this year. Just not in the form needed for vintage Julian ab. Reki and Waisake are ahead of him now,

I think the problem with Savea is that his pace is not fitting in with the game anymore. Savea has always been a more physical player than a pacy player. Fact is Goosen is keeping him out of the Hurricanes team and pacier players are keeping him out of the AB's.
The deficiency will not be as clear in the wet NH conditions and slower playing processes and he may find his feet going for the money rather than staying in NZ. His price will go down massively the longer he stays in NZ - especially if not start ing regularly.

...i don't think Savea has been that bad, he's just had less opportunities than usual to shine- i see the same with South African teams poor distribution to speedy outside backs... it's more like a percieved lack of form due largely to the greedy centres who have'nt sent the ball his way...both Aso and especially Laumape have been in their own private contest for SR top try scorer of the year in the centres...that's where Savea used to run amok... send him up to the Chiefs where he will be truly appreciated...

Possibly issues outside of rugby like late night outs. I have not seen much of him play this year, but if he has lost his pace, he should become a loose forward at blindside flank.
The All Blacks lacked a bruiser in the back row versus the B&I Lions. Messam has not been replaced, along with his choke tackles. Kaino is also a spent force.
To be replaced by Goosen on the wing, is retty pathetic given he was considered the best wing in the world just a few years ago.

". . . send him up to the Chiefs where he will be truly appreciated."
Never really considered that because I think Hurricanes when I think Savea . . . but that actually makes good sense.

Send him to the Crusaders, if any team can sort him out its us.Our guys will know in a couple of weeks if he is mentally prepared to come back

Wow ... such a class act ... and he can't make the side.
Has Hansen lost the plot. He sure is making a mess of things these days.
Probably too many biscuits.

Well, both Hurricane centers were the leading try scorers in the comp. No wonder the guy never got a look in. Man, would we love to have Savea playing for the boks. He size, speed, strength and skill. We don't have any wingers that can compete at that level.
But maybe the All Blacks are sensing that the boks might strike back with their pace. Rhule and Skosan are lightning quick and perhaps this year with Franco and Venter they might find it a lot harder to contain them.
I don't think that we have seen the last of him.

Well King ... I cant see either of our wings stopping Savea on his way to the try line.
How do you stop a cement block at pace from running you over?
Ben Smith and Dagg are quality players. They'll both walk into the current Bok side ... yet I'd much prefer to have a Naholo and Savea at wing than either of those two.
To my mind Smith is better suited to full back. That would be my back three.

Well Hansen has clearly gone for speed and power over size and power.
And clearly thinks Reki and Waisake is ahead of Julian right now. Let's be honest he didn't have a great season.

R. Ioane played well against Oz. He showed speed and skills with ball in hand and he makes it all seem easier than J. Savea. Admittedly he was playing a game in which the ABs ran rampant over OZ but still he showed he has high potential.
