Did not leave his kicking boots at home?   He missed four try conversions and also a penalty kick.   That is 11 points that went amiss.   Pollard is normally an accurate goal kicker with about an average of 75% successful kicks - what happened in Saturday was not normal.

I accept that some of the conversions were difficult - but Pollard made one such conversion.

After that he will probably be returning to training kicking at goal and he will spent hours doing just that.  Lerts hope that deficiency will be corrected speedily.

I think he just had a bad day at the office. Even Carter, and Morne Steyn had their off days when kicking at the posts. Look, he didn't have a great game, but outside of his goal kicking he was still decent. He missed the one tackle, which ultimately led to an Argie try, but I still found he was able to get his backs away, and he himself was effective at getting over the advantage line when he did take on the line. Pollard had an off day, it happens. But I still think they should persist with him and slowly expose Willemse to test rugby.  Unfortunately, I think this performance will bring Jantjies into the starting lineup for the next game, which I think is a mistake.

The grim reality is that nobody is anywhere near the quality of Pollard. Willemse is practically sitting in a cave in 1400 BC Southern Africa, such is the gulf between him and Pollard. Jantjies is the missing link between Earl Rose and Andre Pretorius.
