So much for South Africa having an endless conveyer belt of talent.
What gets me is the fact that these teams are heavy Laden with boks and they okay like that. It is almost like club rugby takes a back seat.
The only teams that walked away without posting a cricket score was the Saarks. They didn't play great but at least they didn't play as bad as the Bools with all their boks at home.
We saw the weekend before how poor the Bools and Stormers were by playing some of the worst rugby in recent memories and it is not getting better.
It is almost like the boks have become cryptonite for any team in SA. Teams with less boks seem to be doing better. What is the point of ponying up some Dosh for this. Might as well gone to the younger up and coming players and let them cash in on their yen or euro.
However, the Stormer completely collapsed today.
On one hand you like at how difficult it is for the SA teams to get momentum as the boks are playing test rugby when they are doing their pre-season or Rassie taking the lion's share of the top players while he is trying to build a squad of 75 000 players.
The boks or any player near the bok squad puts a URC team at a massive disadvantage. They join for 2 or 3 games at the start of the season and then have to go on tour and this year the bins played 5 games just in November. Most of them come injured or have to undergo mandatory rest.
Then roll in 6 nations and there are hardly any games and they also have to undergo a mandatory rest period.
So the book players are never dialed in.
If I was a URC coach I would be pushing back on SA Rugby
